Now seriously... Valkyria Chronicles is that bad.
Halo and JRPGs : two piles of shit slapped together.
Halo is okay for what it is, nothing revolutionary but it does things well
I played bettar...

Does things well? You may be confused with pretty much every OTHER sci-fi shooter set in space.
It was the first console shooter to get the controls to a point where they're reasonably useable (Someone will doubtless bring up goldeneye but I always thought those controls were an example of why you shouldn't do shooters on a console), it had a decent if rather generic story, the gameplay was moderately challenging whilst still being possible to complete, the enemies were somewhat unusual and worked well together, the AI was decent for a shooter.
Competant but not really groundbreaking except in the scope of a shooter on a console. Compared to PC FPS' at the time it was average, compared to console FPS' at the time it was excellent

If Goldeneye didn't exist, we wouldn't have had Halo. If you thought that was a reason why someone shouldn't do shooters on a console, then you have some major issues, as that was the best for the time. That game breathed new life into the FPS on console genre. Now I'm not saying it's better than Halo, but Goldeneye was far more important to history than Halo was.
I never had the time to play goldeneye that much (didn't own it) and hated the N64 controller (didn't own that either) so it may have been outstanding after one was used to the controls but from a n00b perspective, I found the entire thing to be clunky and unworkable.
There's no question it was an important and influential game as far as consoles go, thats why there's still the petitions to being it out on xbla or wiiware but from my admittedly limited persepective, the controls were a flop.

That video is awesome. This is just one of many reasons why I despise JRPGs.
