Honestly, it's been two years now, has valve even MENTIONED it's release? how hard is it to make a 4 hour long expansion? How long does that take? They better be revamping the source engine to 2.0 first or something because I can't wait any longer. Im watching them pop out a new left 4 dead game every 5 seconds but theyre not giving me what i actually want.

I'm tired of half-life.
I've wondered about this as well - I thought the whole point with episodic games was that they'd be able to release new installments faster.

about as episodic as Sins
With the exception of Telltale episodic games tend to be very irregular, and in several cases the "season" ends up never being finished (e.g. Sin Episodes and Penny Arcade Adventures). With zero Episode 3 information available at the moment I wouldn't expect to see it until 2010 at the very earliest.

Weclock: about as episodic as Sins

^ This man tells the truth.
They have a thing or two to learn from Telltale, in my not so humble opinion.
You can ask this to Valve?

So there's not going to be any more Penny Arcade games? I enjoyed the demo.

Maybe they're not satisfied with what they have yet and just keep working on it. Metal Gear 2 wasn't that long and it took a long time to make.

I'm puzzled by the fact that we haven't heard shit about Episode 3 yet. Seems like Valve are more concerned with continuing their Left 4 Dead and Team Fortress franchises. After all, those are major multiplayer hits that bring in new customers a lot faster than a single-player game.
Still, Valve are committed. Episode Three must not become another DNF.

I believe that they originally envisioned four episodes, two were released last year - and they were glorious! For a while there were some rumors about the rest being cancelled, but one of the PA guys later claimed that they were working to make things happen and that it would be "big". Who knows. I'm hoping that Hothead (the developers) were just too busy with to complete episodes 3 and 4, and that they will continue once Deathspank is completed. There is always hope I guess. I should add that the games are well worth playing regardless of what will happen to the last episodes. (Available on [url=http://www.playgreenhouse.com/]Greenhouse, Steam, PS3 and 360)

After Left 4 Dead 7 we should see Episode 3.
That's the last I heard of the game:

Not much, but there you go.
Really liked the first two episodes, by the way.

It'll probably be another TF2 - no releases for years, tons of teased content, and when it finally comes out it'll be completely different from what anyone thought or from any of the original game play and they will continually support it like an MMO (what do you think they bought that MMO studio for?).
They're probably still trying to think up a coherent story line for the Half Life series. They've gotten to the point where they have to start revealing stuff only I get the feeling there was never any grand plan.
I was quite disappointed that they didn't do more to bridge the gap between HL and HL2. Like how does everyone in the world seem to know what you did on Xen? Why aren't they suprised to you? You only took a 1 way trip against impossible odds and have reemerged 10 years later, unaged. The big bad you murdered at the conclusion of HL? Those are our allies now and they love you. Is a 30 second explanation too much to ask?
It's almost like two different universes that share a couple characters. :(

If Hideo Kojima could pull MGS4 where he gave a good response to all those batshit-insane plot threads he created, I have faith that Valve can do the same.
