So, uh, why is 4chan doing this? From where I am sitting it could just be bashing an innocent conservative talk show host. Some folks here have said it is is because he is a racist, but what was the actual event that set them off? I mean, I don't know anything about this guy, but right-wing talk-show hosts can be relatively easy targets for being slandered by this type of thing.

The guy is very conspiracy minded i.e. a few screws short of a full set. This leads him to make very nasty remarks about Obama that could lean on being racist, among other things.

Gotcha. I am rather sensitive to the 'racist' label being thrown around. I am very fiscally conservative (i.e. capitalist) and NOT very politically correct, and I have been accused of being racist countless times in the past. However, this doesn't mean their aren't folks out there who actually deserve that label. If he is one of those people, then I suppose that would at least explain the actions of 4chan.

He has a game/segment on his show called "Guess the minority" in which he begins playing the main theme for The Price is Right, then proceeds to try guessing what race the caller is based on their voice, and he does this randomnly if he thinks the caller is black or mexican. And he makes a bunch of racist like remarks like "Shove it up your mexican ass!" on the show. If you actually listened to this guy's show you'd find out very quickly this is the case and deserves to be trolled.

The guy also seems like a prick and is very irritable.

I'm still pretty sure the show is a fake, or at least that this Ghost character is just trolling himself.

On the other hand, America is capable of making people like this.

I doubt it, he get's legitimate callers and talks about actual political stuff if you sit through the show.

The trolling parts are just the funny parts worth listening to.

That being said, I do think his engineer is fake and is just used to make his show seem more important like it has production value.

I don't know the guy but why would that count as racist?

The bit about unnecessarily mentioning race when slandering/insulting someone? Why is it any better than saying it but changing mexican to black?

I don't know. That's what I'm asking.

The insult (probably a joke) does not appear to be based on race, but rather sounds like an extraneous detail.

I'm just trying to figure out what we mean by the word 'racist' because as with one of the previous posters, that term is kinda thrown around a lot. So let's be clear.

In this case it is used to defame the person's race...as he mentions the caller's race alot when insulting them....not just once or twice.

So does he use racial slurs ever?

Those are considered by some to be racial slurs. ;)

Well, I don't think so. Supposing you said the words "black idiot," now surely there ARE black skinned idiots, right? (and white and brown and whatever else you want to pick). In this case, it's not a slur but a fact claim, "you have X color skin and happen to be an idiot." That's an extraneous detail, but not a slur.

Seriously, you know a slur when you hear one, not going to go through the whole list.

To me, it does make a difference. Maybe that's just me though.

Dude, the WAY he uses them and why he uses them make them a slur. Mainly the only ones who add race to an insult are those intent on making racial comments. And I meant adding race to insults btw, not other comments that aren't insulting and/or are factual statements meant to clarify or inform someone of something.

I'll take your word for it, then! :)

That said, /b/ = this guy probably deserve each other.
