I don't know if this was reported here already...

I just went to rog.asus.com (the homepage for ASUS "Republic Of Gamers"-gaming laptops, like ASUS G75), and I get a:

"Hacked By 1337... Protest aganist disrespect of our beloved prophet blaablaablaa".

Wow. Is it really easy like that, hack the home pages of big corporations? Are there many other hacks ongoing with the current campaign?

EDIT: At the end of the page it says: "Dont worry admin Nothing has been deleted or leaked or downloaded :), Just Index Added."

Missing index.html added to the site, and then all traffic goes to that fake page? Or index.html replaced?

Damn. That's some scary stuff...
This sure inspires respect for the aforementioned beloved prophet.
This shouldn't be at all shocking. corporate servers are notoriously vulnerable due to corporate cost cutting measures.
How does the saying go? "Mohammed loves you, everyone else thinks you're a fucking idiot."
Islam Means Peace !
We want Peace and Brotherhood !
this is why we hack random websites.
Please stop making cartoons and movies after our Prophet, Please Stop !
or we will continue hacking random websites.

Damuna: I'm surprised this hasn't happened to the US Government. If a UFO enthusiast can do it...
It has. You've never heard of Wikileaks?

Damuna: I meant by Islamists.
TBH, the governments tend to keep a very close eye on crackers in countries where people feel that strongly about the issue. They might tolerate the attacks on the US, but they're also a security risk internally.

I suspect that it's also somewhat more difficult to learn to crack if your only access to the internet is at internet bars.
Isn't there a theory according to which software bugs are actually God's revenge already ?

(There probably isn't.)
I'm not so interested in discussing about islamists or who did this, albeit I find it a bit funny how the hacked page says they are doing this due to "US actions" and such, but isn't ASUS a Taiwanese company...?

Anyways, I'm a bit surprised the hacked page is still not taken down. Also, this is a bit alarming considering how just yesterday MS fixed a critical security problem in IE9 that would let a rogue web page take control of one's PC or somesuch, and this on the other hand suggests you can't be necessarily safe even by visiting only "reliable" sites. :) Ok, just a coincidence, but still kinda interesting...

They have US in their name, so, you know, it's easy to confuse :)

...Please tell me you're being intentionally obtuse.
Or it could be someone throwing that bit in there about Mohammed in some effort to be even more "clever". You know, to try to stir up shit, which is pretty much the point of doing this type of thing to a website in the first place. Why not add more shit on top of it?

I'm sorry. I forgot to also mention the ones following stupid nationalism / patriotism believes and similar crap. Humanity should not be held back by freaking retards, we've moved past the 10 IQ mark a long time ago.

Instead of all working together in harmony to make the planet better and safer place, we still have these retards fighting wars for dumb ass reasons.
