Bit of necromancy here but courtney love (who does not deserve correct capitalisation) has now decided she's against the idea

Apparently its in breach of contract somehow. That to me implies there was a contract that she and "Cobain Enterprises LLC" (now thats not shitting on the man but guitar hero somehow is?) signed. Sounds like a nuisance lawsuit looking for money

Being disgusted at Guitar Hero is fine, but do it for the right reasons. Kurt Cobain's inclusion is a non-issue. Blame activison for INTENTIONALLY pumping out 3-4 GH games a year post-Harmonix (original developer who now makes superb Rock Band 2), and making each game compartmentalized so that NO DLC for past games works in new additions. Also, be mad at Guitar Hero FANS who are stupid enough to keep buying the games instead of moving over to the superior RB series.

I just realized that most of you probably have not seen the Kurt Kobain Guitar Hero 5 trailer, so you have no idea how goddamn creepy it is. Here, I'll post a link:

I bloody hate how companies buthcher songs to work with them, i find it disrespectful to the songs.
Smells like Teen Spirt was the main song in that and they have cut and pasted the crap out of it.
Then there was the example in Transformers the movie how they kept repeating the intro of "What I'v Done" by linken part.
Again i ALSO think that if Kurt didnt want his song sold like that then those greasy money launderers at Neversoft shouldent be using it.
Keep in mind im not a real Nirvana fan, i like "Smells Like Teen Spirt" but thats pritty much it.

It didn't take Activision long to respond to Courtney Love's recent "tweetrage" regarding the use of Kurt Cobain's likeness in Guitar Hero 5. As expected, Activision state they had secured the necessary licensing rights. The official statement from Activision reads:
"Guitar Hero secured the necessary licensing rights from the Cobain estate in a written agreement signed by Courtney Love to use Kurt Cobain’s likeness as a fully playable character in Guitar Hero 5."
So not only do they have a written agreement, but it involves Courtney Love herself... So either a.) she's covering her own back after "selling-out" the Cobain name, b.) had no idea what she was signing, or c.) doesn't remember signing them because... well... you get the idea.
Who knows?
Either way, can anyone say "frivolous lawsuit?"
Update: Wow, can anyone say soap opera? I said this would be quite entertaining. In response to Activision's official statement, Love had this to say:
"activision is fulllof shit they have a a contcrct called a deal memo that said upon approvale they could use an avatar i approved."
"and i never inteneded to aPPROVE this shit, they are doing a recall you can be sure o fthat. waita ew hours maybe tomorrow press and etc."
"activision know this aos very very bad press indeed wait til you see what MY lovely lawyer has cooked up, i never ever signed off on this," she continued, just moments ago on Twitter."
