eiii: Anyway ... are there any efforts going on somewhere to preserve the web pages of removed games? I would like to have copies from my games which formerly have been removed from the catalog, like the fallout and arma series and from original war. Completely forgot about saving the pages of removed games so far. :(
I don't know of any organised effort to preserve the pages, but it's a good idea. I believe that JMich grabs the images from GOG (at least he did so during the last sale). So he might be a resource for some of the recovery effort.

IAmSinistar: What are you setting aside against the future?
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
The Black Mirror
Black Mirror 2
Dark Fall: The Journal
2x Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive
Freedom Force vs. te 3rd Reich
Neighbours From Hell Compilation
Painkiller Black Edition
Silver
Spellforce Platinum
Spellforce 2 Shadow Wars
Spellforce 2 Dragon Storm
Spellforce 2 Demons of the Past
The Penumbra Collection

The three Spellforce 2 games are bundleed in one code. I'd hate to give away something "incomplete".

I think Google's cache is the best source ;)

eiii: I was so in a hurry this morning trying to find out how to preserve the game pages before they vanish (to at least keep some of the game infos) that I completely forgot about gift codes. What a shame. Would have bought at least Silver and Spellforce. I'm also afraid it was a mistake to leave out Black Mirror 2 (one of the 5 games I left out from the promo), read about it being a cliff hanger, which I don't like. But it seems to be a better game than I thought, still be worth to buy.

(Hope this is not considered hijacking your thread as it's also about preserving essential game information.)
If you do it soon their might still be a google cache of the pages. Failing that something like the wayback machine might have an old copy of the game pages saved.

Cool, someone should vacuum those up while they're still there. Nice that some of the images are preserved as well.
Interesting. It sees not many people paid too much attention to The Guild or Aquanox as franchises. Are they available on other DRM-free DD services?

I found them on Gamersgate and ShinyLoot. I have used neither service up till now, so I can't offer any personal feedback, but I believe people use them. Also, my search was a cursory one: I just googled 'GameName drm free'; a more thorough search may bring up more vendors, but it's a starting point! :D

Aquanox:

Gamersgate
ShinyLoot

Aquanox 2:

Gamersgate
ShinyLoot

The Guild Gold:

Gamersgate

The Guild 2:

Gamersgate
ShinyLoot

The Guild 2: Pirates of the European Seas:

Gamersgate
ShinyLoot (it has it as 'Pirates of the High Seas' for some reason)

The Guild 2: Venice:

Gamersgate
ShinyLoot

The Guild 2: Renaissance:

Gamersgate
ShinyLoot

Gamersgate has also The Guild Complete Collection, which has all of the games at a discount.

Hope this helps, and happy hunting!
While I'm at it, would anyone be willing to trade with me , since I missed the deadline?
I was really looking into the 2 Alien Nations games, the 2 Dark Falls, and Silver.

Bear in mind, I'm not asking for gifts, I will repay you with what you find best.

<crosses fingers>

ETA: Forgot to mention that since I'm a new poster, I will go first. (Does my 'lurker since Nov 2012' status count? :P )

Please use this thread for trading requests. I understand the desire to do it here, but I really don't want this thread devolving into a swap shop. :)

D'oh! >_< You are absolutely right, I really didn't think this through; I'm terribly sorry.
I saw someone on the general trading thread making the same question being directed here, and posted on a whim without thinking it may veer the thread offtopic.

Lol, my third post and arleady made a blunder, man... :(

Anyway, let me thank you for your efforts. The willingnes of people here to help out is always refreshing!

Heh, don't sweat it, it takes time to learn the ways of this place. Especially as it's very lightly moderated so the community basically makes up the rules itself. You're fine, no harm no foul. :)

Hope you're able to arrange a good trade, and welcome to the community!
Guess I'll need to pick up a couple of Constructors since it is fleeing GOG at the moment.

Grabbed one myself, though it might later also be redeemed by myself if I decide I want it. Seems unlikely at the moment, though.

Geizty, you're probably one of the most wonderful people I know. ;_; Cheers to you for being awesome! :D

I really hope this thread will not get longer because it means more games leaving GOG catalog, but with Constructor leaving too, another copy to squirreled away
