marianne: I googled Kingman Reef and read an interesting article in Nat Geo Mag. It's beautiful, pristine....and sharks galore. Marine life has to be fascinating.
I'm glad they finally got around to removing that one sunken vessel here, as well as the other two at Palmyra, which does away with the iron leaching - link.

Nope. Santarém is relatively close, though. Well, everything is relatively close, Portugal's slightly smaller than Indiana.

We're having an international chocolate festival, right now, if that helps. :P

Thanks for the link. Very interesting. I'm pleased with all their efforts to restore the ecosystems. We have areas here in Florida doing that. One area I've enjoyed is Ocean Reef State Park on the East Coast of Florida. It is an underwater park. Snorkeling is allowed, but no deep diving and NO taking of Coral.

Yeah...I was sorry enough to leave. Incredibly cold, wet, icy, and it would rain all of June and July. Those rainy spells were 24/7 for a week at a time. The only time you could count on for a vacation was August. And even then it still might rain. That area was part of the old Northwest Passage...cold, cold.

Actually I was referring to the football fans. :P I'm only three hours north of Green Bay and it gets a little annoying. The cold and snow doesn't bother me.

Yes...The Pack fans of Green Bay are hard-core, including me. The cold and snow of other areas up there didn't bother me..it was just that location. Three hours north ?, then you aren't far from Fish Creek where I have family.

ETA: The crowds, noise and traffic were too much for me. I was a fan cause a relative played on the team. I'd watch on TV.

Golly, well done. That's also where Burt Reynolds is from. We have the Philadelphia Phillies spring training here.

Well, no one guessed mine yet. The whole troll/toll thing was merely something playful I threw in there. We do have quite a few bridges and lots of beer though. In fact, there's so many different breweries, pubs, and bars in this town of ours there even exist beer 'tours'.

Two more hints: A lot of folks here can trace their heritage to their German ancestry. It's kind of funny, since I'm German myself. Me living here was not by design though. It just happened to work out that way. Anyway, as for the second clue: this city may be known for its weirdness factor.
