DProject: I live not in the only city most foreigners (and other than Scandinavians) know from Finland. Guess where I live.
So you don't live in Helsinki. Perhaps you live in Oulu instead? Or in Pyhäsalmi, either mining ore or hunting neutrinos.

No for both. Like lugum, I like to keep some anonymity intact so I'm not gonna reveal the actual location. I will say this, though: Oulu is not too far from my birth town, although for the past ~9 years I've lived closer to Helsinki, rather than Oulu. A lot, lot closer, actually. So, your guesses weren't that far off :) As a reward, please enjoy this song which currently is one of my favorites: Suru on kunniavieras. One of the reasons I like it, is how it has a little bit of traditional music feel to it, while still sounding modern. At least in my opinion.

Not in Stockholm ( i confess i only know Death Metal Bands from Finland)
my guess is Lahti (because it reminds me of a Latte Macchiato)

Not too comfortable giving out this kind of info, but nice thread all the same.

AdamR: My city has had some recognition in the last couple years for educating a world class Canadian athlete, and a man who went on a 10-day shooting rampage.
Was that recently or awhile back ?

That's okay. Choose any location and offer clues. :D

StingingVelvet: I live where you can still meet Benjamin Franklin!

marianne: Philadelphia ?? Land of the Ben Franklin mirrors ?
Yup. They have a guy dress up as Ben Franklin and walk around downtown every day.

I remember visiting friends there and they owned and lived in one of the historic homes and it had a Ben Franklin mirror positioned to observe the sidewalk. I guess it was the custom way-back-when to look in the mirror and see who was coming up the walk. We went to a parade where I learned to do the Two-Step.
Catch a submarine and come over. I'll make everyone tea.

I googled Kingman Reef and read an interesting article in Nat Geo Mag. It's beautiful, pristine....and sharks galore. Marine life has to be fascinating.
You can guess mine.
One big hint my "From" is lying.

mistermumbles: This shouldn't be too difficult, but let's see:

We've got so many bridges it would make trolls happy to live here, and they could drink of our plentiful beer from the tolls they'd extort.
New York?

tinyE: I live in Copper Harbor Michigan!
Wouldn't it be just the best Twilight Zone-ish revelation if you found out that this forum was completely and only populated by your town-mates in Copper Harbor?

We all just adopted alter egos online, so we can keep an eye on you.

PS, the light above your shed door is out. Better change it.

;)
I live in such a small, unknown country, that it's hard to give hints, but let's say I spend my time between the capital city and my hometown, a place with the same name as Amazon's first page rendering engine (named after a town of the same name as mine, in Brazil, along the Amazon river).

Yes, I live within the walls of a medieval castle.
