Thanks, I never win anything!!
I used my code on The Settlers 2, but to those who haven't used their codes yet:
1- You can give it to a friend!
2- It expires at the end of the year.
3- I didn't try doing this, but try applying the code with multiple games in your cart!

taczillabr: I'm curious about the proportion of people who entered the contest, to compare those people who posted here and those who didn't. Guess a lot of people didn't posted but sent the e-mail.
avatar
Navagon: That must be the case, or I'm not seeing the increase over last time. A whole hell of a lot of the people who use the site never touch the forums after all. It's not the kind of site where most people would touch the forums unless they had a problem.

Start counting the users with 1 to 5 rep, in the question time 2 topic. =O *drooling here*
Lots of (old) console gamers in love with GOG.

Front page questions do seem to attract a lot of people who don't normally post here. Console emulation would be big business, if it included titles that are normally not included in bundles by Sega, Atari and Microsoft. I hope GOG can make it work here.

Me too.
I'm surprised with the reaction to the topic, so many people wanting it on the PC. The important thing is the price, it will be the make or brake.

Well, for people who pretty much stick with just the PC, console games represent a massive untapped market full of gems. It's no surprise that people want some of that. But yes, GOG would have to make changes to their pricing before going ahead with this. Then again, we've got no idea how long it would take GOG to make something like this happen, or if it's even possible.

Yes, it's no surprise that people/PC users want it.
What I meant was I'm surprised by the reaction pin-pointed here at GOG, becoming like a beacon for either PC AND old consoles. People are really trusting the site.

Agreed, ain't that easy to convince sony and nintendo to go "against" their own virtual stores... and with a reasonable price tag. I hope for the best, though.

Well, unlike Steam, people know GOG will put the effort in to make sure the games work.

Which is why I doubt either will make an appearance here. Sega is a strong contender as they've been releasing console versions of their Megadrive titles for some time now. Atari has also released some arcade classics in the past and they're already here.
Like Atari, Commodore is a completely different company hiding behind the name. But they do include old C64 games with their systems. So I guess there's some hope there too.
As for SNK - no clue. Despite collapsing and forming a new company with the same name and staff, they still have their old IP. But then it's a Japanese company. In a bizarre twist, Japan doesn't seem to have caught up with digital distribution yet and subsequently refuses to acknowledge its existence.

Yeah, I didn't bought many games on steam because there I know they aren't patched to the last version and to be compatible with mods, with known bugs and people asking "please, please patch it" in the forums. It's just ridiculous in some cases.

I don't care much about sega 'cause I don't feel like paying $4,5 for each game. If it was lower, then yes I'd care...
Atari, C64 and Amiga are the best bets, IMO. And dreamcast, since now it will be on PSN/XBLA.
Japan is really a weird place, looking by the whole picture.
They sell the best tech, they create the best tech, but they don't use it or they restrict it to the maximum. They don't use digital distribution like they could. There's also a lot of blu-ray movies I've heard that aren't released there, and this is in the land where the best blu-ray player in the world has its parent company, Japan.
Enough for the off-topic, hehe.

This thread's over and done with anyway, so I'm not worried about it. :P

Hehe yeah, whatever... It's because I was going into 3,4 topics already in just 1 post. :p
I have been a GOG nut for about a year now, and am mostly a lurker on the forums.
This is the best site ever! I would post more if I had more time.... I hardly have enough to play the games I get here....
I entered the contest thinking that there would be a good probability of winning.
Looking forward to something more challenging.
Is there a bug in triple quoting?

hooby3dfx: Is there a bug in triple quoting?

It used to be possible to quote as many people as you wanted. But they seem to have limited that now - buggering it up in the process.
It's still possible to double quote with a bit of hand coding and trial and error though.
