For those who are playing this game, does anyone else struggle to keep up with his dialogue? I'm not quite sure of the gibberish him and his pals keep saying. I seriously have no idea what they are saying half the time.

I just got called a racist because I don't consider "gangsta" talk proper english. :S

Hmm, I don't recall having such problems with the game, but then I stopped playing it quite soon as I didn't like the 2D overhead view, which made driving a bit hard. I think GTA3 is the first GTA game worth playing.

GTA V sorry haha. I just realised I missed that in the title.

My suggestion still stands, play GTA3 instead. Even I understood everything that was happening in that game.

As it happens, GTA V is getting quite a bit coverage here in Finland too, in daily magazines. In the commments parts, there are the normal arguments of:

"You can kill people in that game?!? Why do they make games like that? it'll make our kids murderers, or worse! This game should be banned!"

"It is not meant for kids, it has a 18+ age limit. I'm in my 40s and playing the game. It's quite good."

"Why would any adults play freaking video games?!? Are you some kind of losers? What is this world going to when adults play kids' games like GTA V?"

The GTA V PS3 commercials are running constantly on TV too.

I haven't gotten it yet, but in IV that one older Rasta guy was so hard to comprehend it was funny. Even Niko couldn't understand him.

Yeah obviously I am not playing GTA V yet either, but how are all those compared to e.g. GTA SA, which I am currently playing? At least I understand all the mumbo jumbo they are talking in SA. I guess I've seen enough Spike Lee movies.

I recently got SA again and am playing through it too. I tend to use the subtitles whenever a game allows it, because I can read a lot faster than I can listen. I don't recall anyone in SA being unintelligible.

Maybe it's being from scotland and not watching much american tv cause in SA it was just as bad! Really killed my enjoyment for the game!

As someone for which English is not a native language, I understand American movies and TV shows much better than UK ones. As much as I loved the original UK version of The Office, I constantly struggled understanding what they were saying there (when I didn't have Finnish subtitles). The accents and phrases were just so alien to me.

Some of the accents that come out of england I can fully understand. I can't understand a word of someone from London!
