Who's getting it? Seems very interesting (didn't say it sucked, remember that) with the cel-shading and the odd point of view from an isometric-ish view. If it's any good, I just might get a DSi for this.
But my question is this: If R* can recreate the new Liberty City (without Alderney) on the DS, why can't they do it on the PSP? I would love a PSP version of a new Liberty City game.
Clicky on over here
First I think the new Liberty City in GTA:CW will only resemble the one in GTA IV.
It'll likely have the same basic layout, but the textures and the average size of areas will likely differ.
Second, they could make it on the PSP, they just chose not to do so.
Thirdly, I'm afraid this will be the first GTA game I'll not be playing. I'm a big fan of series, but i'm starting to get tired of the quick-adaptations of already existing games. Can't they create an original setting for the hand held version? Something like GTA: Moscou or GTA: Tokyo.

I don't think a real city would work. I remember when people found out that GTA4 was going to be a rough copy of the real NYC, Mayor Bloomberg condemned the game and such. Nobody wants their city to be used in a game where you allegedly "murder prostitutes and steal cars".

It doesn't have to be a real city, it would just be nice to see them base a setting on different city other than New York, Miami or San Francisco.
They did London once, so they proved they can if they want to.
I'm pretty much looking forwards to it. Hopefully it will be better than that POS called GTA IV.
That game is probably one of the biggest disappointments I've ever seen. Heck, even Saint's Row 2 felt more like GTA than GTA IV does...

What did you hate about GTA 4? I found it pretty good, not the best though.
it dialed down the over the top arcade nature of the game and frankly I thught that was a distinct improvement. GTA3 was a good balance, vice city started to get a bit over the top and San Andreas was fun and all but it just got crazy.
To me, GTA4 just feels superior in most respects, I actually find it relaxing to cruise around town in a car. Before GTA4 I couldn't understand how people could find driving relaxing, now I understand it, I'm thinking I might finally pull my finger out and get a licence

Driving isn't that much of a learning curve if you go with an automatic. Learning in a manual takes much, much longer.
Well I'm sure never going to learn in a manual, I'm an IT guy and as such my philosophy in life is to do as little real work as possible.

It was more like a social simulator than anything else.
The car physics sucked, the characters were either boring, illegible (because I couldn't understand a damn word of what they were saying), or assholes. The story was wildly uninteresting, and the game took it self far to seriously. Moving GTA to a more serious, realistic and gritty setting did not fit the setting, at all.
GTA was about the crude humor and jokes, the wanton of destruction and mayhem, and the pleasures derived from those. Not taking your fat cousin out for a snack, or your "girlfriend" out bowling, or some Jamaican dude to a strip club.
They should just have called it "Myspace: The Game". Which is pretty much what it is.
