It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

vanchann: It's a very long thread on IGS to read it all, but I can confirm that Hero Siege was never really DRM-free. Even the (want to be) DRM-free version demands to connect to the internet in order to launch. Too bad, I paid for a game that I'm never going to play.
Jesus, what an asshole. You seriously have to call his maturity into question when he comes up with statements like "steam gives us awesome cloud and big community with achievements" and "also steam prevents piracy so thats the best way". He sounds like some spoilt 14-year-old who got a new toy and decided he's too good for the rest of the world now.

"steam gives us awesome cloud and big community with achievements"
Personaly, I'm reminded of the "It's Only a Paper World" episode from Pinky & The Brain. Free T-shirts? Yeah!

"we are not interested in supporting IGS or Desura, steam just works so much better."
Riiiiiight... "We are not interested in supporting AMD CPU". Intel just works so much better.

Seriously, how come devs like Phil Fish get so much hate even though they're not as obnoxious as this one?

Can someone confirm what the deal is with Tales of Maj'Eyal (good game btw)? (i have it from another bundle - required cd key activation) -- Is it actually drm free? Or requires a CD key (activation) ?. Devs page seems to suggest drm free but i see otherwise - bit confused.

In the SL page says "Online One Time Key Validation". Whatever that means. :)

I have it on GamersGate, and I think is the same thing. And you can also register on their site with the same key: http://te4.org/.

I get the feeling that the game without the extra bit of content that you get for paying is DRM-free, but the rest of the versions have online authentication.

I'll probably just end up pirating a version for backup, if I can find one.

Has anyone bought The Pit Gold Edition from this bundle? I'm curious about how many installers the game has in Shiny Loot.

It's just one file, named The_Pit_Gold_v1.2.3.exe, about 1GB in size.

Thanks! That's interesting.

I think Phil Fish gets abuse because he gave people a face they could aim at, as well as insulting the entire PC gaming group, then throwing a fit about us not supporting him enough.

With Hero Siege. This guy keeps quite for the most part and only says a few things on forums that most of us get lucky enough to miss out on. Most of what he appears to go on about is how _good_ Steam is, he makes out that without DRM his game would go to the whole world an he would never see anything for his work, but he never really says anything you could throw a fit at - at least as an intelligent human being.

I find it funny though how Hero Siege seems to now have been in almost every bundle known to man. I do wonder what his actual revenue from this game has been.

It's basically a way of proving that you've actually paid for the game, and are not playing the free version.

It puts you on the same footing as those who directly donated to the game's developer, via the donate link on the ToME website.

Granted, you have to log-in through the game to get all the benefits, but since the game is essentially free anyway you don't have to buy it, except to support the developer.

EDIT: To see what extras you get for using the code, go to te4.org and look at the Donate! section on the left-hand side.

Overall, quite an underwhelming bundle. Even if it was somehow interesting, reading through all the stuff about the developer of Hero Siege seems good enough reason to not get this bundle given that on Groupees you can't exclude him from receiving any money.

You can't? Even if you don't buy his game?

But you can, since this is a "build a bundle" bundle. (2 out of 5)

It is? Didn't notice this with it not being stated in the bundle title. But it doesn't really matter, from the games that I don't already own nth piques my interest enough.

EDIT: Thanks for pointing it out though.

Just tried to redeem my keys, but Shinyloot's site is offline for me. Anyone else having the same issue?
