spoderman: Yeah that would've made a lot more sense. Giving away the superior android version as a bonus is like a slap in the face for those of us who bought the voiceless PC version in the bundle.

EDIT: Another response from the dev:

"They told me that they want to give it to people who bought cafe or make it as a bonus. But then after I sent the apk, they didn't tell me which one they will choose.
Also, when I give the full version in the bundle, there was no plan to give the android version. Groupees staff told me that the full version works in multiplatform and might do better. I have deluxe version for multiplatform too, but I don't have 3 os to check one by one, so for in case, I give the full version like what they suggested.

Groupees staff asked me to add android version at the middle of the promotion. At first I refuse it since the version I use at google play use in app purchase and there is no way to give the app for free with google in app purchase system.
But then I think I might convert the iOS ver to Android version and distribute the apk, This is however, needs time to be done, and actually I just finished making this a few days ago. and this one is uncompatible with the version at Google Play."

EDIT 2 (sorry for all the edits): One more response:

"And also, groupees asked cafe 0 to join the promotion 24 hours before the promotion is started. They're pretty rush and I didn't get enough time to think about full and deluxe."

DyNaer: LOL, groupees did a total mess here :D

was better to offer the deluxe version by default , and android as bonus , unless i missed something , it's a tad confsing >.>
I asked the dev if they mentioned adding the deluxe version to the bundle as a possibility when they emailed Groupees about an hour or so ago.. and got this response from them.

"actually I already said that to groupees few days ago, if i need to change the full to deluxe but they refused it, said it might rub people the wrong way.
And then they asked me to add the android version instead. I must say, I don't really like the idea of giving all of the full, deluxe and android since it's like giving away all of the products I have (which is my main earning). Seriously, I'm pretty confused about this now."

It does seem like Groupees screwed up somehow..

i understand the dev position , he / she's quite generous, it should be to groupees to correct this.... but right now it's too tale ...or / maybe it's an advertisement for the windows voiced version >.> .... nevertheless it's a slap in the face for windows users as stated above :(

i know it exist some programs to run android under windows ; but just for this, i don't see the reason ...

This seriously sounds like a language barrier issue :-(

i don't know , but in the end , the dev was confused because they refused to replace the voiceless by the voiced version, and instead asked the android version (which is voiced) as bonus , it's kinda disturbing :) ; no ?

Possibly, that in combination with the addition of the game in the bundle being rushed.

Honestly though, I could understand most of what the dev was saying so Groupees shouldn't have had so much trouble if it wasn't so rushed. He originally gave Groupees the option of choosing the regular or deluxe version of the game. Groupees chose the regular version because it supports more platforms. Groupees asked if they could get the android version, the dev originally refused because of some DRM attached to it, but later gave it to them anyway after converting the file. Now the dev doesn't want to give the deluxe version to us, because it's the only thing he's got left to sell that hasn't been bundled. I think he would've been ok with giving us the deluxe version instead of the android version, but not both the deluxe and android versions.

I'm guessing Groupees wanted to gain interest with their first android version of a game, but IMO it was a failure. Most people buying these bundles are buying it for Windows/Mac/Linux at this point, so screwing over your PC customers by giving out a superior android version really isn't the way to go. I doubt it was their intention to screw anyone over though, probably just rushed too much.

it would have been the most reasonable deal beetween both parts , i agree.. Yes , they probably ran of time ...
but as i said , it's still possible to use a tool to run android under windows -> but just for a visual novel xD

Disturbing and weird! I mean I get that the dev doesn't want to give away ALL of their revenue stream - but first of all, the Groupees bundles do not sell anywhere near the number say a HiB does (that this bundle is over 11,000 might possibly be a first for them) and secondly, being in a bundle is excellent PR which is really the only reason for a dev to do it in the first place. So all of this confusion does sound like "What we have here is a failure to communicate" and not a desire on the part of the dev to be difficult and not give buyers what they want...but hey, I wasn't there so this is all supposition.
I think the success of this bundle really speaks about how VNs are stepping out of the ghetto and becoming a more legimate genre. Not perhaps a popular genre, but I think it's time to let go of the "VNs don't sell in the west" mantra.

This is why I wish I worked for Groupees.. If I worked for them I would've pushed for the deluxe version.. not the android version, even with the language barrier.

But we know that'll never happen ;)

The Winter Wolves bundle was mostly (if not 100%) Visual Novels, and that bundle failed. I don't think Winter Wolves is japanese though, just a similar art style to japanese. I was disappointed that it didn't get many sales. I love visual novels.

I know it sold considerably less than this one, but was it truly a failure?

Its one of the least selling Groupees game bundles.. Might be the lowest selling game bundle but I'm not sure.1,374 bundles sold and the 2nd bonus goal wasn't reached.

http://groupees.com/ww

I guess it's a matter of perspective if it was a failure or not, since 1,000+ bundles sold isn't THAT bad, at least the dev made some money off of it.

Fark no. 99.5% of android games are shit (same goes for iOS ones)
