Psyringe: 60% Steam dependence is a bit much for my taste.

I'm very interested in Blindside (it sounds similar to a design idea I had y year ago), but I'd rather buy that on its own.
60% too much, in fact.

;)
and ignore....

ehem....

well I could say they have added some MP3's for $1 tier. not that this post was wrong or something.... Nope.... it was about the MP3's all the time, yessiree....

Drakhyrr: $1 is pretty good for Cryostasis.
Yep, but you can also get it DRM-free from GamersGate. It's on sale occasionally, I think I saw it for 2.50€ a while ago, which is still a good price for this game. Paying 1.50 less is not enough of an incentive for me to buy a Steam-DRM'ed game that I could get DRM-free elsewhere. Of course, you can also get it as a part of the 1C complete pack, which I did (as part of this amazing "86 games for 20€" bundle").

Dunno, I've kind of grown skeptical of Groupees. Their bundles are Steam-heavy, they often don't offer DRM-free versions of games that are DRM-free elsewhere, and they regularly sell games that are incomplete.

Actually.. Groupees adds a lot of DRM-free downloads in combination to Steam keys. For instance, King's Bounty The Legend comes with a Steam key and DRM-free download, same for Necrovision.. both of those were 1C published games. I'll have to check over my bundle list again, but I believe everything Groupees offered from 1C was DRM-free and had a Steam key.

I'd bet Cryostasis will have a DRM-free download and Steam key in the new bundle. They usually offer DRM-free downloads whenever possible.

thebum06: I think I read on one of their tweets that the DRM free version they had received didn't work correctly so they had to get the developers to fix it. I wouldn't really say that's their fault.

I'll probably buy this one. I'm a fan of the horror genre, even if the games listed aren't the best.
Of course it's bad when you get a broken version from the developer, but I wished they just removed the drm-free label and added it later when they got a working version. It seems groupees always rush their promos while other bundles take more time to check all their stuff.

Please don't get me wrong here, I know they always try their best and at the end fixed all tehir problems. As a smaller bundle it's harder for them and closer bundle releases are necessary to cover the running costs. Also I'm thankful that they tried not to go the easy way and by only offering steam keys, so it's really not that I'm in rage or something like this. It's just knowing while they are on rush it's maybe better to wait and see if everything is getting fine out off the starting blocks.
That looks really uninteresting. Am I missing something?

Post Mortem. Albeit, on Steam.
Would've been all over this, if I didn't have Post Mortem boxed and Anna on Desura already. Speaking of which, about time I gave the latter a go, maybe tonight, so possible first impressions on the way.
I already got Cryostasis and Post Mortem, and DRM-free. But for anyone who doesn't mind getting Steam keys only and who doesn't have any of the games yet, in addition to being a fan of horror, I'd say it's a good bundle. None of the games appear uninteresting to me, although I suspect a few of them might be disappointing. I hope the sound design in Blindside has evolved since the demo video I watched; for a game purely relying on sound, the sound seemed much too repetitive in that ...
Maybe it's just my opinion but the best titles in this bundle seem to be at the $1 level, which makes a refreshing change.
Thanks for the info, amok! :)
Never even heard of Blindside, but the description of it has got me intrigued. An Audio-only adventure game? I have no idea what to expect from that, but if nothing else, it will be an interesting experience.

As for the other games, I already own Cryostasis & Post Mortem, but I guess Anna might be interesting. Reviews are quite poor, but then again, some of my favourite games have been games that got mediocre review scores. Manor of the Damned though, well RPG maker games seem to generally hold a low quality, so I won't hold my breath for this one, but who knows, it might be a pleasant surprise. Hopefully it won't be a 50h epic, as I almost always get bore with JRPGs before the 10h mark, and thus rarely finish them.

It depends, there's a huge variety in the quality of RPGMaker games. They make it comparatively easy to write a game, so (obviously) many games are just some half-baked ideas thrown together with little effort. On the other hand, RPGMaker allows innovative people with excellent writing to focus on the things they are good at, which sometimes produces rare gems of the genre. For example, I've rarely seen sexual topics addressed with such good writing as in "Embric of Wulfhammer Castle", which also has a very innovative way of providing multiple endings. It beats the "Larry" games by a landslide. And it's even available for free.

I can't speak for "Manor of the Damned" though.

As far as I know it's not a typical JRPG despite the looks, it actually seems to be an action game with adventure or puzzle elements. Probably closer to Zelda than Final Fantasy.

All I've heard about Embric of Wulfhammer Castle was that it had uncensored lesbian sex scenes... But if it is more mature about the topic than most people make it sound, then I might give it a try.

And I do understand that RPG-maker is just a tool, like any other, and that it in the end is up to the makers of the game to make something interesting, and that you can't blame a bad game on RPG-maker itself, it is just that the market is flooded with these half-baked games, many of which seem to be able to escape bad review scores for some strange reason, so looking at reviews for these types of games is just hopeless (case in point: Laxius Force, which 3.9 (over 4 when it was added to the bundle) on gamer's gate, and the reviews of it that I was able to find gave it 84% and 90% respectively).
Then again, To the Moon was an RPG-maker game, and that one was excellent.
