Seriously, this will be THE tactical game, if it comes out that is.

I've been eyeing this project for years, really, and now they say something is happening, I hope it is a Kickstarter campaign à la Serellan's Takedown.

April 16. Let's support this project, fellow tactical GOGers. :-)

Bump,

the site got totally re-launched, and a kickstarter campaign will start soon. If you do love tactical shooters like me, please contribute with $15 or more. ;)

I can't wait to see what rewards they have. I like the look of this game.

Me too, can't wait, fellow GOGer. This project has way more vision and is already secured (as in already have a playable prototype), compared to Serellan's Takedown.

Nah, I'm not like that.

I support both projects.

Just saying that the way Ground Branch will start its kickstarter page will be better than the disastrous start of Takedown.

Project looks interesting. I never played tactical shooters but one day I hope to have the hardware to try them out :D

GB does use Unreal Engine 3, so it's not that heavy. Takedown is still deciding, they might do CryEngine 3 so that will be a problem for low-spec PC peoplez.

Well I am riding on a netbook so even an old engine might make it go "HNNNNNNGGGG* and keel over...

You can play ArmA:CWA or the very first Rainbow Six, or the very first Ghost Recon... of course at a 800x600 resolution, but you can. Try the demos.

Might try them out. I don't mind the 800X600 res as long as everything fits on the screen. Played the new version of Avernum the other day and some of the interface items got so squashed into each other that it was a bit difficult to see everything :D.

These games are all pre-2002 or so, thus their UI is intended for 4:3 resolutions.

The only problem you'll have is FPS, and aiming at longer distances with a lower res.

Ahahahaha,

try to do that when a Shilka is after you, as infantry in a night mission, in OFP/ArmA:CWA... Oh the horror.
