33 pct now. I assume it will make more than a million (so far it's advancing at about double pace compared to The Banner Saga), but it would be great if it could do even better. I guess they need approx $150,000 for every full time position (for a year), so for e.g. $1,5 million they should be able to make one hell of a game.
Out of curiosity i mailed Arthur Bruno some questions, and got a swift reply. Here's what he wrote:

Hi,

Grim Dawn can be played offline single player or on LAN. We're hoping to also have online matchmaking via Steam but you're still free to play over a LAN without needing any outside connection.

If you get the digital download version, you'll obviously have to go online to download it but there is no online registration or connection required to play.

We aren't planning for any platforms other than PC currently. If we did eventually port it to another platform, we might try to do tablets, since they're basically like hand-held PCs and we wouldn't need to change much.

We haven't signed any sort of deal with GoG but they've contacted us and are very interested in distributing Grim Dawn. So, we may distribute them too.

Thank you for your interest and consideration of pledging!

Kind regards,
Arthur Bruno

Hope that cleared some remaining questions and doubts about Grim Dawn.

This sounds more and more like a must have, when the game is released.
I like that GOG already have contacted Crate in order to distribute the game ;)

Think i'll get Grim Dawn, Torchlight2 and Titan Quest instead of Diablo3.
I've been waiting on this forever and am somewhat starting to lose hope of these guys actually getting this out the door. They've all managed to make a great game before. They're saying about 14 more months at this point. I'm still probably going to back it, I just think this one might go bust and want desperately for someone to show me I'm wrong.

Everyone on this forum knows how much I gush over Titan Quest so no one take this as me badmouthing this game or team. I don't know what the problem is or even if there is one, I just kind of wonder if there is...
I don't think there is any problem just a lack of human resources that they hope to rectify with the Kickstarter campaign.

orcishgamer: snip
undermanned that is all. What they have done so far is with two full timers and some part timers and it looks better than a lot of other indie games so.

Pledging gives all of us a better game, so for me that is the obvious choice.

It will probably also benefit GOG, as they will get more sales the better the game is.
Went for the $85 digital deluxe myself (international, less hassles).

Really looking forward to this one, been waiting a while now
Knowing GoG contacted them makes me insanely happy... I cant wait for this to happen... and as the #'s indicate its going to blow up on KS'r

Oh a side note i played the open beta of D3 and im seriously not that impressed... it feels dumbed down and way to easy.... fun yes, looks amazing, but way to easy... im honestly still more excited for Grim Dawn... T2 is a no brainier and Last Exile will be my little love affair until GD releases next year

I heard that TQ was pretty boring, so I'm on the fence as to whether to back this. I'm not even that big a fan of ARPGs, and the only ARPG I enjoyed in recent years was Din's Curse.

Have they released any information as to what makes GD stand out from the crowd, other than the usual PR talk? The KS page details a list of features, but they all sound rather gimmicky. The Occultist video also looks decent, but nothing too special other than the player breaking down doors. I really want to support this though, if only because I want to be surprised by an ARPG in the same way Din's Curse did.

TQ is one of the best and most beautiful ARPGs I've ever played. I'm shocked anyone who'd played it would call it boring. Maybe they miss being able to farm Pindle or Sorc farm Mephisto...

I should have bought it when it went on sale every 2 weeks, just so I can try it out for myself. It seems that it's no longer on sale.

And I really liked how you can invest skill points in two classes later on, giving the choice of either creating a hybrid class or specialising in one - games usually either makes you specialise from beginning and all through, or are to open making classes a little bland (imho)

Solei: Looks sweet!. Here's hoping they will make the game available without any drm client.
Have to keep an eye on this one from now on.

Edit:

I might need glasses ;) The kickstarter page suggests that it will be distributed without DRM. Now i'm really looking forward to this.
There is only one problem, at the $18 dollar donation level they say DRM free, but that digital D/L is available off of Steam? Don't they know that Steam is just another form of DRM.

I guess i'm going to donate maybe in a few days, at $18 for a new game this seems to be a very good deal these days.

Yeah, I had a Battlemage for awhile, which was a pretty fun combo, if not terribly useful at times.
