That list of lit games isn't looking too keen.

Pay 2 Wins as far as the eye can see.

There must be some other dimension, that I'm not aware of, where all of these thousands of Online Multi-Player Only games always have over 200 online and playing.

I'm just, personally, fire-walled away from everyone and that's why all these MMOs I've tried look abandoned. *rolls eyes*

What are you talking about? Steam? If so I see a lot of non-F2P stuff on my Queue, sounds like you're just unlucky (or might have played a lot of F2P games on steam and they're picking what you're viewing that way?).

Giltonnam: Snip
10 of the 28 lits are Multi-Player focused. That is less than half but it's still quite a lot considering that four years from now those ten games will no longer be active.

Most games on Greenlight didn't even exist until Greenlight did, the "concept" for them just popped up magically when some greedy people found Greenlight and thought it would be a quick and easy way to get onto Steam with some shovelware and get quick $$$

99% of Greenlight "games" look like complete turds, and I would be willing to get that most of them do not have anything approaching a game behind them. The losers behind those games know that what they are promising is just flash crap, they just hope to sell the game on steam for a few bucks and hope for some impulse buys

There is an MMO themed site out there that specializes in hosting all MMO games. Steam is only serving as ad space for those games and another way to sell in-game content.

Also, If I were to play an MMO, as they are FREE to play - I'm not sure why I would want to go through the Steam client on top of the game's client to play it and not just download and install from the developer directly.

That's pretty naive, they want to be hosted on steam like all the MMO's want to be hosted on steam, to get access to a bigger audience.

And free-to-play just means that they are selling in-game items and the like for real money. MMO's have never been about making good games, they have been about a monetization approach, ie generating a flow of income. They are like investment schemes.
