Hey guys... I've written an article showing some of my favorite (and what I think are the best) tunes heard in PC games from 1996-2000... I'd really, really appreciate it if y'all could Digg it.

PART TWO IS COMING! Ten more songs will be showcased next week... so if your favorite song didn't make it, there's still hope.
Thanks a bunch!
Nice choice of songs, I like them better than the first article.
BTW, quake 4 did have music. It had both a theme song, which played throughout the menu screens and in the end credits, and at specific moments musical backgrounds, mostly to heighten the tension, like in hl2.
WTF? No Grim Fandango? HOW COULD YOU?!!!
Gotta have the music from the Temple of Agrippa in Zork Nemesis.
you need to have some of the songs from ddr on there, which released May 24, 2002.
sure the game itself was not popular, but I'm quite positive there were some good songs on there
Glad to see Red Alert made the list. That song is one of the most epic battle songs ever, getting you pumped to kick ass like Kill Bill's theme and For Whom The Bell Tolls.
But no Myst 1? For shame!

Myst came out in 1993.
No Silent Hill? >_<
I don't remember if it had complete songs, but instrumental tracks were great.

Silent Hill never came out on PC.
Also, very good list. But I think both Final Fantasy VII and VIII have extremly good songs (FFVII soundtrack is on midi though).

Silent Hill 2, 3, and the room have been on PC, and I quite enjoy the soundtrack to silent hill 3.

Mmm... yeah I know, but we are talking about Silen Hill isn't ? PSOne Silent Hill.
woot. Outlaws soundtrack is awesome. never heard it or even played the game. Now i want to play some western-themed game.
I, too, was only dimly vaguely aware of Outlaws. I never played it when it was released, but I gave the sample track a listen and per the recommendation, went and tracked down the whole soundtrack. It really is some gorgeous music. Just very nicely done.
Dugg!
