This kind of price gouging should be illegal.

For the price of a used DVD collection in "acceptable" condition, you can buy a new and powerful gaming PC + some games... This kind of insane immoral greed is why the world today is messed up.

$1,404.06 for some used DVDs in "acceptable" condition...which probably means you can play the DVDs but there are scratches.

Pretty insane price. Haven't even heard about that series.
£71 on the UK site (£25 for the non collectors edition)
This is easy to deal with.

Buy the set then do a chargeback. That'll teach 'em. :P

Amazing, great, awesome series but still...
Well... this is some collection with custom made fan-stuff and all kinds of crazy extras. The price does seem excessive, but that's not the actual price of getting all the films.

EDIT: Apparently, Toast_burner's post shows that the same crap can be bought for quite a bit less. D:

Yeah, people will just order this collection from a different country in order to save over $1300.

Yeah but the price of this collection used to be around $150.

LOL and you can get this but in Bluray from Amazon.com for around $220.

This kind of shit is why I lost my faith in humanity, a long time ago.

Some collectors do weird things. Like buy a stamp or a coin with a sackful of gold (or used dvd-box containing dagger) and place it in a book.
If someone has money to spend, why not. It could be worse, like some Fabio exercise videos. =)

Well this kind of behavior could screw Sharpe fans who are not rich or wealthy. This kind of behavior is also immoral and insane. Fortunately, there are plenty of options left for Sharpe fans who don't have around $1400.

I think there is a big difference between a gold ring and a collection of DVDs in a cheap wooden box that comes with a pewter letter opener.

wow ... that is a really good series, but wow. The Sharpe series was always a bit overpriced (selling one episode per DVD) when it was being sold - but I think the collector's edition was a lot more reasonable that that when it first came out! I guess it must be out of print now so that if you have a copy and are willing to part with it you can charge an exorbitant amount. Still I can't imagine there will be any takers at that price.

Sean Bean has a lot to answer for. (After all he was in Sharpe, and Lord of the rings). I wonder if there are any other things he's been in which sells stuff worth over a thousand dollars?

One thing funny is that you can get a superior version of this collection for around $220(if you are willing to wait until it is in stock again). Bluray is superior to DVD. The quality difference is huge.

So to ask people around $1400 for the DVD collection is not only immoral, in my opinion but also insane.
