That games artistic value sadly gets overshadowed by the commercial success and franchise it spawned. COD 4: MW is an awesome game. Which is exactly not an "America saving the world, HOOAA" game but quite the deconstruction of it.

I also want to mention the introductory sequence of that game. Very well done.

Even Yahtzee gave MW a positive review, and he's probably the most outspoken anti-games-of-that-particular-genre person on the internet.

It was a much better game than MW2 and 3. Mostly because it was well-paced and built up to its shock moments while MW2 and 3 tried to be all shock all the time.
PST definitely has a lot of great moments. A couple of my favorites (spoiler's obviously):

- Morte's story about the man with three wishes in the Brothel of Slaking Intellectual Lusts.
- the revelation about the true nature of the Unbroken Circle of Zerthimon and Dak'kon's vow.
- the goodbyes to Dak'kon, Fall-from-Grace, and Nordom ... some of the most incredible dialog ever written for a game.
Another for me is in Homeworld were you return to Kharak to find it destroyed and you watch the blackbox footage of your planet being destroyed... hard hitting stuff.
