Tag Team Game Rumble!

You could hear the sound of crowds going wild! You could hear hear the epic guitar riffs going off! You could hear the sound of muscular bodies slamming against the arena floor! No, this wasn't the echoes of Wrestlemania XXX. It was our very own special [url=http://www.gog.com/gamerumble]Battle of the Games 2014 promo, with stables of amazing games facing off each other three by three in explosive combat. You, dear GOGgers, were the referees. Now, the time has come for the grand finale! We know who won, and who did not. All of the participating games are now simultaneously on sale for the next 48 hours!
I own everything on the strategy side, nothing on the platformer side. That says enough on the value those games have for me, I think. Still, I'll vote platformer, if they win I'll maybe grab guacamelee.
Not too keen on any of those games, except maybe Guacamelee, but that would be mainly for the music. Don't really like the art-style. A fighting game needs to be more "defined" when it comes to its characters, this looks, "feels", like air fighting air.
Defender's Quest is the only game of the 6 I own. Picked it up here for $2.49 just two months ago. I have to say, I really enjoyed it and I'm definitely looking forward to DQ2.

That said, I'd jump on the other two in that group, so that's the direction I went... Close so far, but it's early.
I voted for the bundle with Mr Bree cos it has a picture of a pig :)

The Redneck Rampage soundtrack might have had something to do with that ;P

I voted for the games where Mr. Bree is, since it reminds me of Super Meat Boy, I would certainly buy it at 75% OFF.

Ghorpm: True, but "indie platformers with physics" are often scolded here ;)

And BTW as a physicist I can assure you that there is next to nothing physics in them ;)

Stooner: Only Ethan has something a little bit similar with physics puzzles, right physicist?
Wrong :D Mind you, I don't blame anyone, I'm fully aware that physics is not very popular and therefore if devs introduce the simplest rigid body models (boxes and cylinders mostly) instead of point mass they immediately start advertising their games with "physics involved" phrase. Some games also include a very basic concept of friction but that's still not enough. Did somebody made more realistic model with drag? Personally, I haven't seen any game with it.

The only game I played that included a bit more physics was Puddle because they did create quite convincing model including viscosity of different liquids.

And if you see a game with magnetism you may actually immediately assume it's terribly distorted without even playing it. Once again - I don't blame anyone, I'm aware that for most people magnetism is about attracting and repelling metal things but in reality it doesn't work like most games and movies try to show it.

You've activated my inner nerd, I hope he didn't bother you too much ;) I'll try to calm him down a bit now.
Wow, Empire Earth was one of the first 3d RTS :) Thanks!
Not fond of TD games so quite easy to decide today.
I'm surprised Anomaly's side is pulling ahead. Defender's Quest has been on promo with great discounts several times already; supposedly whoever wanted it got it ages ago. Anomaly was put on promo at least once for 80% if I'm not mistaken (although that could be bundled with Uplink + Darwinia + some other game I can't remember). Anyway. Are so many people interested in Pixeljunk Monsters?

serpantino: Indie games... thanks for the chance to save some money for another day gog ^_^. As usual I own most of these elsewhere from various bundles. It also pretty much sums up the problem with the indie scene for me.... 3 tower defense games *joy* played one, you've played them all, the innovations in the genre are paltry or ill fitting.
Uh.

Anomaly is basically the opposite of a Tower Defense game.
Nothing to me today, already have all games and the battle ones doesn't interest me
Already own and beat the lovely Guacamelee. The other two platformers are of no interest to me. So voting for the TD games since I've yet to pick up Anomaly which I've been curious about. Already own the great DQ and PJM. ;)

Woooot? What the hell are you talking, man? Can we go back to the simple "there's nothing about physics in them"? :)

Splatsch: Tell us what you finally choose when you know which one to pick ;)

Leroux: Probably not the answer you expected, but since you asked: After watching some gameplay footage and reviews of both games, I decided that while it's possible that I'd enjoy them nevertheless, they don't look appealing enough to me that it would justify making them a top priority and favoring them over the many FPS games I already own and am still in the process of playing through (Half-Life series, Undying, Bioshock, XIII etc.). So I'll just postpone the decision for now until the next sale. It was still interesting to read a few opinions about the games, so thanks to everyone who replied. Maybe another time. :)
Ahah, don't worry ;)
I didn't wanted to "push" you in any way ^^ I just wanted to help, and was just curious, so don't worry at all ! I know what it is to hesitate to buy, and finally decide to buy nothing for a later better buy ;)
The first Half-Life and Undying are on my favorites FPS ! (especially Half-Life : simply one of the best), and Bioshock is really good ! (but haven't finished it yet). I must advice you Duke Nukem 3D : it's also one of the top (but very old, so... you may not like it).
The most important thing is to play at what we really want, and so, to buy what we really want :)

Sure we can! As I said - I've already calmed my inner nerd but you can blame yourself for provoking him ;P When he activates he doesn't know when to stop nor how to speak to be understood ;P
