Tag Team Game Rumble!

You could hear the sound of crowds going wild! You could hear hear the epic guitar riffs going off! You could hear the sound of muscular bodies slamming against the arena floor! No, this wasn't the echoes of Wrestlemania XXX. It was our very own special [url=http://www.gog.com/gamerumble]Battle of the Games 2014 promo, with stables of amazing games facing off each other three by three in explosive combat. You, dear GOGgers, were the referees. Now, the time has come for the grand finale! We know who won, and who did not. All of the participating games are now simultaneously on sale for the next 48 hours!

Ghorpm: May I ask you why do you think so? Don't get me wrong I also think that single scenarios are absolutely awesome, I spent countless hours with HoMM 3, playing single and random maps but I still prefer the campaigns. A lot of scripted events, transferable heroes, unique objectives and a nice plot line make it a great experience. That's why I absolutely love Heroes Chronicles collection - there are just campaigns there after all.

On a side note - I think it's a good time to get digital backups of HoMM 1 & 2 :)

GabiMoro: I didn't mean the campaigns are bad, but they are rather "meh". Some of them are better, some are weak. As far as I remember the story was just ok. I found the strong point of Heroes 3 to be in the scenarios. There are a lot of scenarios (like those maps made by Corribus - Timothy Duncan) which are much better.

I intend to replay all the Campaigns, including the Chronicles, perhaps I remember wrong :).
Yes, I was also mostly referring to HoMM 3. I do agree with you that scenarios are the main reason why the game is so popular and you can keep playing (not replaying!) it 15 years after the release. It's kinda unique that not only there are tons of available scenarios but also (and more importantly) most of them are of high quality. It's also fairly obvious that I spent twenty times more hours on scenarios than on the campaigns but I think it shouldn't diminish the quality of the campaigns. They are nicely told, you get to learn the story from different perspective and they are quite complementary. What's also very important for me (and maybe the reason why I could be biased) they are closely connected to Might & Magic games, especially to MM7 which is my personal favorite. Furthermore most missions from those campaigns are really interesting and well designed. I wouldn't have any problems with showing a few weaker ones but the majority is great.

So yeah, while nowadays I only play scenarios the campaigns will always have a special place in my heart :D

disi: I always vote wrong :D

5528 votes vs. 10593 votes

looks like UT wins...
Better to vote for what you actually want than to vote for the winner just for the sake of victory. -_^

Sadly it does look like a crushing defeat for [url=http://www.gog.com/game/red_faction_2]Faction & Chaser. T_T

There's still time for the tide to turn though, just have to wait and see. ^_^

deonast: Did you change your location or IP address to get the Normal edition like that? A year or so I ended up opening another account, with a European IP address to get a "normal" copy. It would be nice to just have the normal edition in my list here. I wouldn't care if the censored aus version is still sitting there.

fr33kSh0w2012: try Gifting yourself the game!
Thanks, it appears everything is against me this morning. Paypal went mental wanting me to change passwords verify credit cards then failing saying my session expired. Hell it wouldn't let me copy paste my password (I use a password manager normally). After much nashing of teeth I eventually got it to stop bothering me. Then redeeming the code seems to have failed can't see it in my games list and the code is no longer valid. I always had a bookmark for the refresh link to refresh my games list and damn well can't find that now. Found a the link on google and all I got was an error trying to refresh.

Now finally I've got it to refresh and have the game and now I'm just massively pissed off (which is not how I wanted to go to bed for 3 hours sleep before work).

I hope I don't knowingly pass a paypal employee in the street today, they would not survive the encounter :(

Fictionvision: Well it's looking like Red Faction won't win, but I do have a question regarding discounts.

When its 60% off tomorrow, will the 25% stacking discount for Red Faction 1 and 2 still apply if you buy both games at the same time? (Yeah I've read its not that good a game, but if they stack it will be $2 more if bought with Red Faction 1 and I figure its worth trying for that.)
The series discount (25%) does not stack with any larger discounts, sorry!

12204 votes to 6371 votes in favor of the Unreal games.

What's amazing to me is how many people are voting. The past few major sales have seemingly brought in many new/active users.

How is that? For me is 20€ on steam vs 22.5$ here, so it's cheaper here due to the conversion (20€ = 27.6$).
Living aside the fact that here is DRM free...

If I understand correctly, Steam games are cheaper in Poland when compared to € countries.
LOL. What were they thinking to put Red Faction up against Unreal games? Unreal will beat the crap out of Red Faction :)

This battle is pretty one-sided derp.

Makes sense, thanks.
I'm glad Unreal appears to be winning. I've been waiting for them to go on sale. So far, I like the design of this promo.

Well the loser still get 60% off instead of 75% so its not that bad. And Red Faction series in comparison to Unreal series is not that known.
