romulus16: By any chance anyone get this mod to work with the gog version??? I keep navigating to the Gothic 2 folder in the installer but it doesnt recognise it :(

This is easily fixed. Go to the System subfolder of your Gothic II folder and make a copy of gothic.exe, calling it gothic2.exe. Then run the installer and set the main Gothic II folder as the target. You'll still get the two warnings but it will install OK.

This same fix is also needed when installing the "report" version of Gothic II that some mods require.

EDIT: note that Gothic Multiplayer's updater needs to write directly to the install folder so for Vista and newer you'll need to install it outside Program Files or run it as an administrator.

EDIT 2: upon further investigation I can't seem to get this to work. :( The launcher appears but launches the game right away and it seems to be the standard single player game. This is very disappointing.
Thank you got everything all up and running :) Now to just find english players.... Walked into some place and two guys just stared at me and started speaking some other language... Then they proceeded to open fire on me with their crosbows :P

Thanks for that. The current problem is that I got Gothic II, but the damn thing isn't launching.

It worked right from the get go for me... Try using Amin thingy (right click lol)

(EDIT: My I.T teachers would probably cry if I said that in class lol... Run as administrator )

Also check all the previous posts because I had problems trying to get the multiplayer patch to install where as someone posted a nice helpful response :)

Tried the admin thingy, nothing seems to work. Guess gonna have to give some crack a go, because this is getting really frustrating.

Yeah, but they are making great progress. I logged onto a random server and within minutes someone had beaten me up and stolen my stuff. This is a very authentic representation of the Gothic universe. :D
