Yeah, I thought the guy in New York having a go at the "debt collector" was staged at first, but straight up, it wasn't. This show is soooo hilarious, especially when he's ripping into chefs from countries that have a reputation for not only good food, but the best food. The state of some of the kitchens and cold-storage areas is really shocking.

Yeah, I've never seen so much mold or so many cockroaches anywhere but on that show.
Also it's hilarious how many of them seem to forget why they asked for help in the first place. They're all "please help us, we don't know what the fuck we're doing", and then no matter what he tells them, they go "no, we want to keep doing everything the same way we always have".
Although once in a while, he does actually encounter some who listen to what he's saying and are thankful for it.

Gordon is famous here not just for his cooking he is an ex footballer 2 but think he is more aggresive in the kitchen My brother even got offered a job to work for Gordon and guess what he refused (mad bugger) :)
His Kitchen nightmares are fantastic both the ones here and in the us.

I'm not a big fan of the US version as it feels a little to staged and repeats things far to often. I just want to throw my TV out of the window sometimes when they get the person to explain what happened just before they show it. However the UK version is much better and while I'm not claiming non of it is staged they jest seem able to cover it up a lot better.

The US version is disappointing. The restaurants are way less salvageable then the Euro ones, but in the end he pays for a complete renovation. Its also noticeable that he loathes americans (considering his subjects, I understand).
In the british/euro series he just gives his best advice, helps how he can, and basically leaves them to sink or swim with some vicious criticism. He's less an entertainer then a really good chef and consultant. If the restaurant in the british versions dont listen to him, their mad.

Then again, I also watch ALOT of Food Network. Dinner Impossible, Good Eats, Triple D, Chopped (Which can also get hilarious and scary at the same time: "I NEVER devain Shrimp!") Ultimate Recipe Showdown, the list goes on and on.

I used to watch a lot of Ainsley Harriot's cooking shows, whenever I came across them. Sadly, this was not too often, as they've never been on any of the Danish TV channels (that I've noticed, anyway).

There's lots of them on BBC Food (which may now have been merged into BBC Lifestyle), which I believe are broadcast in Canal Digitals networks all over scandinavia.

Maybe so, but I don't have Canal Digital. The TV market in Denmark is stupid. We have the technology to make it completely customizeable (mix and match whatever channels you want), but none of our content providers let their customers do that. Also, the prices of the various TV packages are exorbitant. The only truly affordable option is to buy the largest mixed package your content provider offers, and make do with the channels it contains. Forget about extra packages, it's just too expensive.

Agreed. The Brit version is better. I also like that, unlike the US version, they don't bring in professional decorators and spend thousands of dollars refurbishing the whole restaurant and everything else...it's all based only on what the owners themselves can afford to do.

We have Iron Chef UK now... which is like Masterchef on speed. Not quite the same format as US version, but still quite interesting.
I hate Gordon Ramsey though, his ego overshadows his shows these days. Nowhere near as good a chef or businessman as many of his contemporaries.
