I often see people hold up a high standard to games, thinking that anything rated less than an 8/10 isn't worth it, while easily giving 5 stars to games they love, often partially due to nostalgia factor if it's an old game.

On GOG when I look at the rating for games, I see many games with five stars or four and a half. Very few have less than four, and even reviews that talk about a game as being a bad one are usually granting 3 stars. So I want to ask you all: what games are here on GOG that are bad? What games have less than four stars? They kind of seem more interesting to me.
You can see them by bringing up 'all games', sorting by user rating and scrolling to the bottom.
Well, Master of Orion 3 has less than 3 stars last time I checked, and it really is that bad. I'm not sure why you would be interested in it though, except perhaps for reassuring yourself that not _every_ piece of crap gets its ratings through the roof. ;)
I remember Evolva being a bit 'Interesting idea, bad implementation' but that was YEARS ago that I last tried it
It has 3.5 stars

Also Kingdom: The Far Reaches seems to but some kind of cartoon where you must guess the script exactly or die, die, die again! - 3 stars

Like everything else, its all a matter of perception.GOG was originally Good Old Games - collecting the 'classic' games here. Out of the 500+ games there are really only handful of what i would call 'turkeys".... classical games which shouldnt be here...as in they are...shite. But then one mans rubbish is anothers treasure i guess.Lot of reviews are seen through rose tinted glasses unfortunately...

Usually only the people who feel strongly (usually positively, unless it is Omerta DLC) about a game review it. That's why most games probably get either glowing or trashing reviews.

I think Ultima 1 sucks by today's standards, but I don't have an urge to review it.

Is Ultima 9 better?
Wouldn't that make them BOGs instead of GOGs?

Possibly MAGOGs - Mostly Awful Good Old Games. ;)

Everyone has their own definition of what is good and what is bad so even if you think a game is a pyramid of digital dog shit, someone out there, I'm sure, sees it as a "GOG". That is why I don't trust reviews anymore. If I want to know if a game is good or not, I watch the let's play videos. No let's play videos? Then I play the demo. No demo and let's play videos = me no buy game unless 75% off or more.
