I don't know if there are many PSP users here, but I've bought one recently, and, while browsing PSN I've seen that some of the "Minis" game series has some good old games ports or remakes.
If you know retro games that have been released on PSP - could be "Minis" game or full PSP game, simple ports or remakes - I'd be glad to list them here.
So far, I've just bought Pinball Dreams, and it such a pleasure to play it again, I have so much good memories of it on Amiga. The PSP version is really nice, the music are exactly the same as on Amiga, and you can even revert the screen to play with the PSP vertically. Sweet.
Of course, I list here only legal old games, I will not post any info on emulator or any homebrew apps that require to hack PSP's firmware.

Here's a list of PSOne classics re-released through PSN.
I recommend Space Invaders Extreme. I believe it even has a sequel.
It's, well, Space Invaders! But better! And prettier!
Also, the homebrew scene is loaded with emulators for older consoles. Mega Man, Metroid and so forth are a pleasure to play on the PSP.
There are numerous retro console compilations on the PSP, including:
Capcom Classics Collection Reloaded
Capcom Classics Collection Remixed
Sega Mega Drive Collection (Sega Genesis Collection in the US)
Activision Hits Remixed (Atari 2600 games, of all things)
Namco Museum Battle Collection
EA Replay is probably the worst of the bunch. The games are mostly crappy SNES (or Mega Drive) ports of games that might have actually been good in their original PC versions: like Syndicate, Ultima 7 or Wing Commander.

Castlevania: The Dracula X Chronicles is pretty decent and, as far as I know, the ONLY legally available Castlevania game for the PSP at this time.
I also noticed that in the link provided by Catshade it shows Symphony of the Night as being re-released on PSN. That game is the VERY pinnacle of the Castlevania series. Get it. TODAY.

Dracula x on the PSP includes symphony of the night when you finish the game, there's also 2 versions of Rondo of Blood, the classic PC engine one an a modernized version, There's even a weird game called Castlevania Peke in there but i never managed to unlock that.
If you can't be bothered to finish the game just download the save from gamefaqs and copy it to your memory stick.
PS1 games on the PSP have one notable issue, the fact it only has 2 shoulder buttons instead of 4, the way it emulates the second (using a shift button type of thing) is more than a little clunky. Half the reason I got a PSP was so I could reply my ps1 games on it but the majority of the ones I have are just too fiddly to be fun

It's on XBLA for the 360 as well. Much prefer to play it there. With the planned purchase of a 360 later this month my soul transfer to the console generation will be complete ...

I wonder what the original post said, if the current one says "Brain Damaged Forklift Summoner".

The PSOne classic games on my PSP utilize either the stick or the D-Pad to emulate the other 2 shoulder buttons (it can be configured pretty easy). Since the standard PSOne controller doesn't have the analog stick it makes it pretty 'easy' for them to emulate. I tend to have movement/standard d-pad actions on the stick and the shoulder buttons/shifted buttons on the D-Pad.
Ultimate Ghosts'n Goblins
Well, this is more a proper sequel than a remake but hey, it's the legit, spiritual heir of my beloved Ghosts'n Goblins saga (you know, that "impossible" game by Capcom from 1985 onward) so it fits very well within the list....
And btw it is the real, only reason for which I've bought a PSP. A pretty basic gaming experience for me...
