Ok, so they're not old, but they are retro style turn-based rpgs, and I thought I'd share some fun ones with everyone...

GURK - Its like Might & Magic III meets Gold Box Series, on a smaller scale. You play with an Archer, Warrior, and Mage who must sweep the land of evil. Tremendous fun. The1st one is a demo, the 2nd one is well worth the low price, and the 3rd one is on the way.

Knights of Pen & Paper - Awesome gimmick...you play a group of gamers playing a tabletop rpg. Tons of geek humor, the usual quests & such. Another one with a very low price.

Legends of Yore - Solo game where you start with one of the 3 prime classes and later get to multiclass. This game is actually quite huge, and like the others is very cheap.

Totally Random Hero - Again, very cheap (do you notice a theme here?) and not nearly as detailed as the other games I mentioned, but its a fun little timekiller that can be surprisingly addictive.

So, if anyone has any other turn-based retro Android rpgs they enjoy & would like to mention, please do so. I love this style of game & thought I'd make some recommendations to my fellow GOGers.

Cheers!!
wasn't aware of these.thanks.mind you what size screen do you play these on??
I bought Bards Tale for Android (3 copies on different platforms now) and it has the original first 3 games built into it also, absolutely EPIC!!!!

Also just got my C64 back last weekend and I have Times of Lore and Bards Tale on tape for it.
I've only got the first Gurk, but it is really good. Ugly visuals, but fun gameplay, which is what counts for me. :) For 256K of space, they got a lot done... also easy to play in 5- or 10-minute sessions if that's all the time you have. Plus it should look fine on even a tiny screen.

I play them on my cell phone & they look just fine. The best thing to do to see how they run on your particular device is to go to the Google Play Store & choose the option to show reviews for your device only & current app version only.

I've had games on DVD, CD, digital download, floppies, cartridge, and tape...the evolution in gaming is amazing.

While I've got you here, is the Android version of BT Trilogy keyboard dependant or did they do something for a better interface?

It uses the keyboard just like it used to, your Android keyboard will open shortly after you start. It does give you a bit of instruction on loading and saving etc
I really liked Cardinal Quest, although it is more roguelike than plain RPG.
Quest Lord is a really addictive game in the good old style of Lands of Lore 1. It's first person, turnbased and you have a big world to discover, many quests to solve and a lot of enemies to kill. :)
