I wouldn't worry about the number too much. When someone posts, I look at the post itself (or set of posts in a topic) not the rep number since I know there is an ongoing problem. I've seen members with high post numbers tied to their names that probably wouldn't pass a inductive reasoning class let alone a logic class with the sort of justification arguments given.

Behave properly and follow the forum rules, and your rep really should be the least of your worries. That's what I say.

Would be better to stay and not to care about the rep. The only people that will be happy when you leave are the anonymous down-reppers.

I don’t much like the standard and frankly lazy ‘toughen up’ speech (actually it’s not much of a speech, that’s pretty much it), but an anonymous person who ultimately has no impact on your web life should not be able to hurt you with such little effort. At the end of the day we’re not talking about abusive messages, spam, or a stalked Facebook page, but a single click of the mouse. A family pet could manage that.

lol. I'd downrep even if it wasn't anonymous, because I simply don't always have time to explain why I disagree with something that much.

That said though, I probably give out MORE upvotes, because I frequently see more of those posts than ones I'd downrep.

The losers doing this are so stupid they don't even recognize a genuine challenge when they're called on to put up or shut up. I've challenged them several times to find my posts and downrep them all, there really aren't that many, it should be doable, yet nothing. Nada. Pussies are too afraid to go look for and find an easily unique screen name like OldFatGuy and downrep them.

So I think it's just coincidence that some of these posters are going downhill on rep. I don't think these assholes are smart enough to target anyone specifically.

So if you leave they win, lay low for a while if you want, because not caring doesn't mean that you won't get a little frustrated when you log back in and see a post of you saying "good morning" or something getting downrepped.
