I've announced my forum resignation a few times. I come back because the vast majority of the forum is worth the hassle. I put up with the down rep because I love seeing Licurg pester noobs about Sacrifice, Sachys talk about sausages, or one of another million things that makes this place so much fun. That doesn't mean the downside doesn't get to me so I can't fault I0rdtr3k.

I've been on fora where they do that and have people add a reason. It's even worse, if people think that rep is bad here, imagine having defamatory comments permanently attached to your account. I stopped going to Fitocracy and subsequently deleted my profile because of the vile lies people were attaching to my profile.

Really, anybody that cares this much about rep isn't going to be missed by me. Most of the time when your taking a hit there's a reason for it. If you're getting down-repped more than up-prepped, usually that's a hint that you're not fitting in very well here.
Definitely not, just head over to Fitocracy and see what they've got going on. Unless they've finally admitted that they have a real rep problem, I'm guessing that you'll find a lot of trollish comments on people's profile that they can't get rid of.

I agree that it is annoying simply because I can't post any links anymore otherwise like I have said before I am not bothered and won't quit because of this, eventhough my rep is reaching the other end of the spectrum of l0rdr3k's rep.

Well then just remove downrepping altogether and keep the possibility for uprepping, I would be all for that.

Yeah well, I've always felt that rep was completely pointless. I think the only thing it's good for right now is as a double check that somebody you're dealing with isn't just a clever bastard like that hedvvards fellow. Because we don't have anywhere near the same rep, it's just one more check to ensure that I am who I say I am.

But, really, I don't even know why rep was added in the first place. In practice it's more a measure of activity and compliance with group think than anything else.

Well even back then I was getting constant down repping and a daily dose of -2 to -4. Then someone was irritated by my increased rep when it reached 27 (once upon a time...) and accused me of being greedy on the ninja thread after that I got a lot of low rated posts and also the daily down repping. All of which has led me to my current state and the down repping continues resulting in a constant decline everyday.

Well, that's just a small trade-off compared to what you got during your stint here. If you can't face this, I don't know how you'll cope in real-life during turbulent times.
