Strategy First, maybe? That would be cool... particularly because of the Kohan series.
I also dream about Infogrames, if only to get the I-War series on Gog.com. That would be fantastic.
Strategy First is already on GoG. Technically, The Adventure Company is also on GoG. They're a part of JoWooD/DreamCatcher.
One thing to note about both these publishers is that they were often responsible for the North American market, while other companies took care of distribution in other parts of the world. So they often don't own the IPs, and they don't have worldwide distribution rights (as GoG is a worldwide service, this is pretty important).
Edit: Might as well comment on MicroProse too - most of their rights are owned by Atari/Infogrames (MP were bought by Hasbro Interactive, who pretty much ruined the company. Hasbro Interactive was later bought by Infogrames, who then shut MicroProse down completely). Some are owned by 2K (mostly through Firaxis). MicroProse does not exist any more, so it's unlikely they're the new publisher.

Is Core Design still about? What about Team17? Anyone think they're possibilities in the future?
Core Design was bought by Eidos. After the quality of their games started dropping (IMO Project Eden was their last quality title), Eidos eventually sold the actual studio to an UK developer named Rebellion, but kept all the rights to Core's earlier games and trademarks.
Team 17 is still around, and AFAIK they own most of their old rights, so a deal with them would be neat. Unfortunately, they seem to have mostly forgotten about the PC, but I still expect GoG to get a deal with them eventually.
Ahh interesting. Cheers Zeewolf, you publisher savant.
It's my job to pay attention to these things, I'm really not that nerdy if you get to know me. :)

Ahh but its your nerdy ourtward appearance that puts people off.
The last thing I remember hearing Team 17 attached to was new screenshots of XBLA/PSN sequel to Worms. Not sure what they're going to do to enhance it, it should have been Worms World Party to begin with, I miss the holy hand grenade damnit!
RAVEN! RAVEN! I'd love to get my hands on their back catalog.

Nerdy/Geekdom is something to be proud of. Look at it like this: We probably have the most fun at our jobs, we have the coolest toys, we're generally great with kids because we can connect with our inner child, we're the most internet savvy people in a world driven by online social networks, we're the best people to be with during an apocalypse, we have the hottest women, Star Wars, we read the coolest stuff, every graphic novel in our collection is something to be proud of, we entertain the masses with our video games, we're socially maladjusted but still impress people with our intelligence, we don't conform to what the wider world expects of us and finally, we're probably the only people left who actually do some freaking research before we say something.

I'd like to see your references on that. Harvard or APA standards would be sufficient.
Heh, I'm glad to see you agree :)
Hmm, still no announcement...
Well I think the rumour is its Trokia Games, but we shall see...
New publisher announcements are usually accompanied by at least one game release from that publisher. We already got today's new releases, so I don't think we'll be getting any publisher announcements today.
As for the Troika thing, all we really have is Oldski saying "We're working on it." Technically, they are working on every publisher/developer out there, so hearing that about Troika in particular really doesn't tell us much. But, since they almost never mention prospective publisher/developers by name until they actually have a deal in place, this does bode really well for Troika's potential GOG participation.

But GOG said that today there was going to be an announcement of a new publisher! they couldn't have lied to us right? :/
