Every now and again, I'll get a new game or two on GOG cause of a good sale or something I like just catches my eye that I may have not noticed before.

I try to keep the My Collection shelf organized with games in a given series typically being near each other (in order), and putting games I've completed or am not as interested in (weren't as good) lower down.

But lately whenever I go into it the games are all shuffled around and I have absolutely no idea why. It didn't used to do this to my knowledge, but I'd certainly like to know if I can prevent from happening again. It's hard to keep track of the tons of games I own (here and elsewhere) as it is, and this certainly isn't helping.

Yeah, I have my games sorted alphabetically and whenever I buy a new game, it switches my sort to date purchased. I can easily switch it back, so I've not bothered contacting GOG about it though. I can see how it would be damned irritating given the way you sort your shelf.

Yeah, it's a little annoying, but all you need to do to fix it is try to move one of the games around. An alert message will pop up, something like "Moving games around is only possible in Manual Sorting Mode. Would you like to switch to Manual Sorting Mode?". Click 'yes' and your shelf will be restored to the way you'd sorted it before.

Or even easier, click the dropdown menu and choose manual. That's what I do when a new purchase changes the sorting to date.

Manual sorting is da bomb, yo.

If GOG implemented a feature to move one row at a time, it would probably help people out greatly and save a lot of sorting time.

Or you can avoid the entire problem by not clicking the "Go To My Account" button on the purchase summary page, and instead click on "My Account" on the floating menu bar. That way, your sorting stays on manual.

Why the heck does it revert to "By Purchase Date" when you click that? It's pretty user unfriendly when you had those 100+ titles all organized the way you wanted to, and suddenly it's like someone dumped a jigsaw puzzle onto the floor.

I always had it set to Manual. I'm pretty sure it didn't used to go back to "By Purchase Date", has that been added as of late? I do remember the games used to show up at the bottom, rather than the top. I wouldn't even mind them showing up at the top, so long as it didn't reshuffle the rest of the list.

I bet this feature was designed by a female. My wife just loves to arrange and rearrange our photos in albums. I see the same logic here :-P

Why not just add it to the top?

I had set it back to manual. Everything stayed in place. Also, tburger, that was a bit rude, don't you think? I like to organize, too, and I'm a guy! :<
