taczillabr: That was my thinking, with a giant step like EA or take-two, one brings the another giant here. And then all the constellation of publishers comes right after them.

It certainly adds some major weight to the argument in favour of them signing up. If Kotick can see the sense in using GOG then why can't they?

End of beta around March, and an implied site revamp at the same time. :) Good news, especially (I hope) for forum functionality.

Navagon: True. And the fact that they went with Steam would suggest they're oblivious to just how pirated their old classics have been. It's like fitting a new alarm to your burnt out joyridden wreck of a car.

From their point of view it makes sense.
Steam is by far the number 1 digital distribution platform.
That they also made a deal with D2D and perhaps others, but not with GOG, makes far less sense.

The thing about Steam is, they didn't just use it as a digital distribution platform, but also as DRM. Their games aren't like a lot of other DOSbox games on there that don't need the client to run. That's what I meant. They may be overlooking GOG while it's still in beta. So that may change in March.
I've spammed shacknews with it, lol:

Judging by iWi's comments I'm going to say March will be EA. With Activision and EA on board all the others will follow it will only be a matter of time.
Well I do hope it's either EA or ATARI. Others don't have that many games I like (well they might have more thru aquisitions but wiki lists dont include those).

Thanks for the link!
My money is on EA for some reason they seem to be trying to show that they listen to their customers. They could also do with a boost of cash and getting someone to fix their old games to work on modern pc's opens up untapped ££ for them with not much effort on their part as gog would be doing the hard work.
It would be great what with Activision and EA letting their games go through Gog as this now gives us a lot of games to play.

Wow, very cool. More language support, expanded price points, another big publisher announcement, about 20 Activision titles in total coming, possibly some kind of Mac support... its going to be a very big year for GOG.

I don't use Steam, so I can't comment on LA titles and the DRM that comes with them.
Lets just hope that they only used Steam for testing the waters of digital distribution.
As for the March announcement, I'm hoping for EA, but LA or Take-Two (in that order) would be great too.

Really, this will be THE YEAR for GOG if all those things will come out. And there are surprises...

For the March announcement, I'm with Eidos and EA.
