The big day is approaching and everyone is counting hours, minutes and seconds when the GOG staff members will appear in the spotlight! Believe us, we're all excited about this as well, but first things first. Let us give you some details, so everyone knows who, what, where and when.

Who? All of you, our dear users, are invited to watch the live streaming of the CDP Days 2011 Spring Conference.
What? The live streaming will include presentations by CD Projekt RED with their awesome game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and GOG.com revealing some cool stuff. Both presentations will be in English.
Where? You'll be able to watch both presentations on GOG.com. On Thursday we'll put up a news post with a live stream video window embedded in it for your convenience.
When? The live streaming of CD Projekt RED presentation will start on Thursday, April 14 at 12:00 p.m. EST (that's 4:00 p.m. GMT - that's 9:00 a.m. Los Angeles time, 12:00 p.m. New York, 5:00 p.m. London time or 6:00 p.m. Warsaw time). GOG will hit the stage an hour later at 1:00 p.m. EST (5:00 p.m. GMT).

You may also notice some teaser spots on the front page. These will change during the next three days, so feel free to speculate what's it all about :). See you on Thursday!

Rosstifer1712: I thought it was 5PM here in the UK cause our timezone is GMT
Not during DST. GMT doesn't change, London time does.

FlintlockJazz: Tell 'em that Jazz would be most appreciative, they'll know who you're talking about and understand, honest...
Or just threaten them with the wrath of Max. Of course, Max is too easily distracted, so it may not work.

Cook: But you're on summer time now, aren't you? :)
I'm so confused xD

If I look up EST it's 6 am now, and CET it's 1PM now. That's 7 hours difference. Which would put gog start 1 am EST at 8pm CET for me :)

Ah, with the 5PM GMT (11AM now) it's in 6 hours, so 7pm.

Lone3wolf: Currently 1025 GMT (1125 BST)
so 5.5 hours for the CDP stream, +1 hour for the gog stream.
avatar
Xristina: I believe you have GMT +1 http://wwp.greenwichmeantime.com/
Yes, I allowed for that : that'd be the "(1125 BST)" part ;)
All times are calculated from GMT.
It's about time this daylight savings insanity was globally abolished. It serves little purpose at this time of ubiquitous electric lighting and it makes international coordination extremely confusing.

Sorry. Just had to vent that out.

On topic, it seems that after the last batch of hints that could apply to some 75% of videogames out there, speculations unsurprisingly died out. I'm honestly curious what the news is going to be, but if it isn't LA or EA, it's going to be very anticlimactic.

FlintlockJazz: Darn it, won't get in till 18:15 London time at the earliest, which means that I'll completely miss RED's presentation and miss the start of GOG's... I don't suppose you could talk them into putting it back an hour or two? Tell 'em that Jazz would be most appreciative, they'll know who you're talking about and understand, honest...

We're on BST at the mo I think, at least it's not like how it used to be where we had different timezones within the UK of a few minutes! :D

I like to try the diplomatic option first before resorting to nukes. ;)

Cook: As for the time when the live stream of GOG's presentation will start, it's 5:00 p.m. GMT which means 10:00 a.m. Los Angeles time, 1:00 p.m. New York, 6:00 p.m. London time or 7:00 p.m. Warsaw time.

Now if you want to watch the CD Projekt RED's presentation, just tune in an hour earlier :)

Hope that helps!
Hey, so....do we get a game release today, after the stream? :P

It´s strange... Greenwich is in London but the GMT is not London´s time. Britishmen are weird.

Scottish farmers whinging too much caused that....there's also some idiots wanting us to go 2 hours ahead in summer, to match up with Europe.
Screw that for a game of soldiers. Idiots can barely manage an hour's change....AND WE'RE >>NOT!<< IN EUROPE!
Any politician putting forward a paper for that gets some really nasty mail from me. Sent by high-powered rifle, attached to a 7.62mm bullet.*

*not really, but I will scream and rage at them :P

Edit : punctuation.

Velvetmeds: the colors remind me of FEAR but i doubt that's it, besides the game works fine on modern systems and on top of that i'm not sure it fits "GOG"
GOG has the loosest definition of "old" there is. They've got games from 2005, that's not much earlier than FEAR.

Yes but i wasn't talking age exactly. King's bounty is more recent but has an "older" feeling. Not sure about Two worlds but it's similarities with ES games might explain that too. For FEAR i can't find any explanation :P
I am beginning to think there has to be more than one publisher involved in today's announcement. The clues just seem to be too widely varied.
I'll say Lucasarts.

Ride with the outlaws? Full Throttle
Dream of the stars? The Dig
Underworld? Grim Fandango

And the rest?
I don't have an answer to everything in the universe... :)

Afraid of the Dark? I don't know...Maniac Mansion, maybe?

Or....maybe, it's not just a single announcement, and we'll have Lucasarts and Alone in the Dark.
