The big day is approaching and everyone is counting hours, minutes and seconds when the GOG staff members will appear in the spotlight! Believe us, we're all excited about this as well, but first things first. Let us give you some details, so everyone knows who, what, where and when.

Who? All of you, our dear users, are invited to watch the live streaming of the CDP Days 2011 Spring Conference.
What? The live streaming will include presentations by CD Projekt RED with their awesome game The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings, and GOG.com revealing some cool stuff. Both presentations will be in English.
Where? You'll be able to watch both presentations on GOG.com. On Thursday we'll put up a news post with a live stream video window embedded in it for your convenience.
When? The live streaming of CD Projekt RED presentation will start on Thursday, April 14 at 12:00 p.m. EST (that's 4:00 p.m. GMT - that's 9:00 a.m. Los Angeles time, 12:00 p.m. New York, 5:00 p.m. London time or 6:00 p.m. Warsaw time). GOG will hit the stage an hour later at 1:00 p.m. EST (5:00 p.m. GMT).

You may also notice some teaser spots on the front page. These will change during the next three days, so feel free to speculate what's it all about :). See you on Thursday!

Pheace: I know this isn't a 'what is this game?' thread but I remember a game where you built your own moon base. A little sim city like but you got attacked as well I think. But can't remember the name of it.
Sounds a bit like Utopia.

Velvetmeds: It's unlikely but i sooo wish it were SSI (but they don't exist now right?)
They don't, but their remains are owned by Ubisoft (and we've already got some of their games here).

Yeah thanks, it was Utopia, Bansama just answered to it in the 'what is this game' thread as well.
Guess it was still from my Amiga days rather than pc xD

Man I loved that game :)

El_Caz: I think the key word here is "dream" and not stars. Granted, it's most likely space related, The game is from Origin Systems (Ultima, Wing Commander, Crusader series, System Shock, Wings of Glory) and it now belongs to ... EA. It figures GOG would be working hard to bring the Holy Grail of the wanted list.

Now excuse me while I go wash my pants.
All good games except wings of glory , i played it when it came out and it's bad... The better WW1 sim of that age (both 1994 i think) is dawn patrol.
I know I'm dreaming, but, I would love for GOG to have signed Blizzard and Starcraft, and my all time favorite Warcraft 2...doubtfull though I know. I always wanted to play Tie fighter, never have though, so that would be awesome too. Star Trek Elite Force one and two would kick it. Hey, how about Wizardry Series, loved that series and it involved space travel haven't seen that mentioned yet. Whatever it is though I'm sure it will Rule! Thanks GOG for keeping my boyhood fun alive in my old age!
R* - GTA 1, 2 ,3 would be awesome.

hyperagathon: The Dig made me think of the stars, GOG. The Dig. :)
Civilization did, but I can't imagine that they'll be able to get that here.
At teaser:

It could be a teaser for Star Wars products (there was a slew of them... X-Wing, Jedi Knight, Commando, etc).

I'd like to think they got Origins (or whoever own the rights) on board with Wing Commander/Privateer saga, but that's wistful thinking.

There were also a bunch of space strategy game (Master of Orion is probably the grand daddy of those and already on GoG). I know I never got around to playing Galactic Civilizations and al., seemed like good games.

There is also a slew of Star Trek games (didn't play too many of those... according to reviews, some were lemon, but others were actually pretty good).

It's anyone's guess I suppose. Lots of space themed games out there spanning multiple genres.

rochedo: R* - GTA 1, 2 ,3 would be awesome.
And that small, but awesome expansion called Vice City.

[edit]
Also, i smell Homeworld.

I'm betting Wing Commander. Or maybe the original X-Com.
Dark Forces 1/2 would also be great
I don't think it could be Wing Commander... although... remember, a couple weeks ago, EA started issuing takedowns of Ultima IV. And, certainly a partnership with EA would be trade show level news...
Personally, I think that anything other than Wing Commander (or other EA stuff) could be a disappointment.

Yes, I know that EA is quite the "ultimate frontier". But this would be too much of an hype for any other developer.

I think everyone still remembers the "GOG is no more" fiasco when they relaunched the site.

There are so many Good old Games out there, I doubt we will be greatly dissappointed. I really don't think it is EA after all the GOG guy said above that they would not have a countdown, and EA is more than Count Down worthy I think. So lets not set our sites too high, lets think bowling games so we will all be pleasantly suprised! Striiiiiiike!
