Miaghstir: The mixes are also still visible in many places...

CowboyBebop: If GOG removed the ability to edit the GOGmixes on purpose then surely it's only a matter of time before they remove them from the site altogether. Maybe gog will implement the best of the gogmixes into the website. I doubt they would test all the new releases using Wine but they may make a page for multi-lingual games and those that use dosbox/scummvm.
Perhaps, but before I get any more indication otherwise, I'll believe they just forgot to add the "My GOGmixes" link to the account page. Especially considering the mixes are very visible elsewhere.

Tormentfan: This whole siteoverhaul has been an abortion.
As was the "We're out of beta" site to begin with, I'm quite sure they'll continue fixing errors that shouldn't have made it into production to begin with.

Which only supports the theory of their uselessness.
Wasn't that a hyped feature when they came out of Beta? Like others, I never saw the point, but just dropping it like this shows how over hyped they were in the first place.

Possibly, but I'm not holding my breath until the next overhaul.

EDIT.. CHRIST ALMIGHTY, they STILL didn't fix the stupid reply method.

I don't disagree. However, it's a quite powerful tool for the only use it does have (making lists of games). And it's a simple tool, unlike the wiki which is (relatively) complicated to edit and has no integration with the GOG website at all (no, sorry, I don't count the shelf-syncing userscript as "integration").

That it's very frequently abused (in my opinion) is a matter of the people using the tool, not the tool itself.

Have you guys actually looked at the catalogue (as in "browse games" -> any category)?

GOGmixes are still there. The main page is the only place from which they have been removed.

And the "My account" page, where your own mixes were listed.

Yeah, I just noticed that. They're still very present, though.

Indeed, I've stated as much.
Short summary for those with ADHD: Fuck GOG, I'm pissed.

I'm quickly turning into an anti-fan-boy. The problem with offering a feature which people can waste time by simply making a list and then unceremoniously removing it without notice pisses me off.

I kept a native Linux game list, and was hoping to make a lame list of wish-listed games that people could gift me when asked "what do you want for your birthday, etc.." (A feature sorely missing)...

Either the web guy is a total tool, or there is no interest in providing what "the people" want.

Anyway, I want my 8 to 12 hours back if gogmixes are gone.

As far as the suggested wiki goes, I find it difficult to justify keeping up information for a commercial entity in order to increase their sales. It's much like running a wiki for IBM on how to use, fix and generally do things with their computers if you want to run Mac OS9 on them. It's not silly, but any form of acknowledgement that the community attempted to help others who do run other platforms which in turn probably increased their sales... even one sale is worthwhile.

The "quiet" stance that GOG takes with no official support for any other platform or language and in offering support for Windows 7, in most cases they're standing on the shoulders of giants to begin with like DOSBox and ScummVM.

While on the topic of support... what support? It's all designed to be no real support here anyway, I also understand that the publisher agreements may not allow it, I'm sure not all are that way.

My apologies for the tirade (and the long post), but I'm sure someone from their "marketing/community" department could have made some sort of effort to respond to the users in this case... No?
here is mine http://www.gog.com/en/mix/digital_darkness

Shameless bump but in any case it seems to be working ;)

Gremmi: They were a pretty useless idea overall, to be honest. Considering the catalogue let you filter by multiple options, the vast majority of GOGMixes like 'only five star games!' or 'Best RPGs!' were utterly redundant. Add in the fact that you couldn't search for specific GOGMixes, only browse them in a seemingly random order making the ones that were useful impossible to find, and it was a more or less useless addition.
I created a GOGMix to show the games that are compatible on my website Classic Gaming Arena

http://www.gog.com/en/mix/games_compatible_with_cga_classic_gaming_arena

I also used the games using DOSBox mix to determine which games I can support next on my site.
