Fellow GOGlodytes,

You are likely aware of our ongoing effort to honour our missing gifters, and other friends from the forum through our regular "Absent Friends" giveaway (that continues to remain hopefully temporary). It is on reflection of this that we have personally come to recognise those who contribute to the community in many ways. With that thought we would like to announce a seperate giveaway.

We present to you with great pleasure, the GOGlodyte of the year award!

The premise is simple: nominate any GOGlodyte for the award for their outstanding contribution to the community (please provide links as examples) and clearly state why you think they should recieve this coveted title AND a $10 GOG of their choice. Ensure you post your nomination in this thread!

You may enter on behalf of only one other GOGlodyte.

Once your choice has been submitted it may not be changed.

You may enter for the same GOGlodyte as another poster, but please provide your own reasoning (and links where possible).

Whilst gifters may be nominated, we encourage you to think beyond those boundaries and consider those that have worked tirelessly in other areas first; be it informing the community of new titles, providing new solutions to forum structure problems, simply always making you smile. If you can deem it an outstanding contribution that has benefitted the community, provide a link and clearly state your reasoning, they will be added to the shortlist.

WHEN NOMINATING A GIFTER, MAKE SURE YOU ONLY MENTION THEIR OTHER QUALITIES AND PLACE SPECIFIC LINKS!

The shortlist of nominees will be scrutinised and finalised before a random draw of all viable candidates is done.
An honourable mentions list will also be made of those that did not win, but gave such contribution to the community to be worthy of accolade.

Nominations close at 9pm, Sunday 22nd December, and the draw will take place on Christmas day.

Having done a sterling job of hosting our weekly draw on our behalf, Sachys will take care of all proceedings.

Due to a Severe Simian Scatalogical Scrap (S^4) I decided that I had to postpone my entry. So, without further ado:

I nominate Momo1991 as the one and only GOGlodyte of the Year!

So, why, you ask. Just a few easy ones first.

Momo is very supportive of developers.

Momo is polite & caring, a trait we could all use more of.

Now to the grit of my nomination. First of all, I know Momo is well known for her @^'s and the example I am going to cite here is from a @^ thread, but I want you to IGNORE that and read what is really going on. Momo is our GOGMother, she cares for us, we ALL know it and whether we admit it or not, it is something we all crave, the caring touch. Momo joined in Feb. 2013, and 2 months later she showed everyone how much she cares. She brought many people together in an effort to help raise money through donations to </i>http://www.indiegogo.com/projects/i-am-going-to-survive. These donations were to help a young lady get life-saving surgeries. You didn't have to enter her @^, she just asked for people to go to the link and donate whatever they could to help this young lady. During the course of her @^ the amount of donations to this cause went from $11,000 to the final goal of $35,000, in just 6 days. No, not all of that was from the GOGers, but the attention she brought through her GA and other conversations was enormous, especially in our always-linked-up society.

For those of you who know of this story you know the sad truth, but the facts of this scam don't in any way detract from the HEART of the matter. Momo cares. Everyone here should know, I started my research on the truth behind Momo and the proof of her greatness with the intention of making this huge list of links so long that Sachys would pass out just from looking at it (WITH NO @^ LINKS). ;-) When I found this thread I kinda lost focus for a while. I already knew how caring Momo was, hell, we all do, but this is a gaming site and here she was begging for donations to help save a life! So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
