A not particularly skilled player who'd like to join the group reporting! If you let me in, I might even plug in a microphone.

The server has been paid for January as promised. Donations are now open for February (the bill is due on the 4th of February) and we need to raise around $21.

As usual, you can make donation here.

Hi there!

I'm Runehamster, usually go by Hammy. I've been part of the GoG community quite a while now and have probably chatted with most of you at one time or another. I just purchased TF2 during this big sale and have been invited to join your Steam group, which I greatly appreciate! I'm looking forward to playing with you all.

I have little experience in competitive first person shooters, although I used to be a dab hand at the sniper class in SWBF2. So...yeah. I'll probably stink at it :D

Excited though!

Anyway...uh...I can't think of anything else. Toodles.
Thanks to AlexY (I think that was you :D ) for the donation towards the server!
I've updated the scramble and autobalance plugin and now the players that are dueling will be immune to autobalance and scramble.

That might have something to do with the fact I immediately switched to Pyro when he was playing as Spy :P

Thanks to Ralackk who covered the February-March donation! I've requested the invoice and we'll pay it as soon as it is generated.

The donation drive for March-April is now open, and we're aiming for the usual $21 which is around £12.21 using the PayPal conversion rates.

To donate you can visit our donation website or just PayPal the funds to gom.donate [at] gmail [dot] com
Quick question - can anyone give me specific times of the day or week that I'm likely to find events or meet-ups going on? I've gotten three or four messages now telling me that there was an event starting, and each time I left the server I was playing on or quit browsing the internet, logged into GoG's TF2 server, and found two or three people playing Payload on the same map. That really doesn't count as an event IMHO.

Things usually star around 8PM GMT and it usually starts slowly, with few players, but then stats go up. For example today we started at 7PM GMT with around 4 players and went to a full server around 8-8:30 GMT and then things went quiet at around 9:30 GMT.

Keep an eye on the server after the event starts to see how many players are there, and remember, if you don't join to increase the number of players others will think exactly the same ("oh, the server hasn't enough players on yet") and won't join and so on.

Also, these days are slower thanks to the holidays and people being away or just doing other things.

Another thing to not is that 99% of the time events are scheduled before anyone is on the server exactly to get people on and playing.

Ah, gotcha, so early afternoon here. Thank you much! And yes, I was logging on, just got disappointed a few times and quit bothering.
