I just got TF2 and I'm interested in joining the GOG group, can I have the invite? That's if you can stand a supern00b like me. My username is Walsmith012. Do I still have to download the map pack that is presented on the first page? I didn't read through the whole topic so I don't know if there have been some changes.

Invite sent, not sure about the map packs though I haven't used the server much recently.

We'd recommend that you download it, we use a few custom maps on the server and the map pack contains them all. That said, a custom map can only be played when an admin is present on the server to change to one. But it's not too important.

I'll go through the map folder and upgrade maps and check and see what's worth it and we'll make some of them available for player nomination and vote, not just admin.
The ETA for this is late tonight as I've got some things to do in-between (such as do some more tweaking to the team-talk plugin to see if I can fix some issues we've been having with it).xx

Thanks for the info and the invite, downloading the map pack now. I'm probably not going to play this game too often but I didn't see any requirements about activity anywhere.

Its not a serious clan or anything, just pop on the server whenever you feel like it.

If you've been playing on the server lately, you may well have seen me in there, occasionally sucking, sometimes pwning as pyro. (Happens every now and again, and yes, I'm more than W+M1 )
