PowerBlood: I'm impressed how have idiots here ... This is bad, considering that it took me a bad impression of the forum, because I was mistreated just for being a new user.
Wishbone: You have not been mistreated for being a new user. In fact, you have not been mistreated at all. You have been criticized for exchanging money based on false assumptions, when a single mouse click and a bit of reading would have told you everything you needed to know. Also for posting an aggressive reply to someone who was trying to help you. Both criticisms are perfectly valid, and in no way counts as "mistreatment".
You are most welcome here. The more, the merrier, as they say. And if you have any questions, feel free to ask them. The community here is generally extremely helpful, not to mention generous.
I agree. In general, the community here is very forgiving and very helpful; in return, there's the reasonable expectation that users asking questions do a minimum amount of research first.
It really wouldn't have taken much to find out that GoG and steam don't mix at all -just look at the FAQ:
So what's with this DRM thing?
DRM or Digital Rights Management is a kind of copy protection technology used by many companies to limit the usage of digital media. Although designed to stop pirates from creating illegal copies, in reality the only people who are hurt are the legitimate consumers, stripped of their fair use rights, such as the ability to make backup copies.
We believe that a DRM-free world would be a better place and that's why you won't find any DRMs or other intrusive copy protection in games available at GOG.com.)
Not doing any research at all makes you look like a troll - even if you're not one.
