KyleKatarn: I'm the same. Is there an explanation for it? Maybe blips take up less space in my brain or something.
For me, it's because it sounded so, hm, generic and bland. Maybe it's because i'm not that much a soundtrack man and the only one that stuck out for me was number 6, because of those low trombones [probably not trombones, aren't they?]. With midis, sids and mods, music was made to stand out a bit more i guess, today 'epicness' is enough.
I seem to be in the opposite situation as a majority of people. I have had the benefit of actually listening to the soundtracks of 5 of these 7 games regularly (read: just about every day for years), so after confirming all of those and figuring out the other 2 (based on instrumentation, obvious melodies, and such), I submitted my entry.

As a number of people have pointed out, this contest appeals very much to game soundtrack aficionados and even then only to a small subset of them. But as with any content-based contest, it all comes down to your tastes, habits, and skills and whether they match with the contest. I may seem to have a bit of an upper hand for this contest, but if this was any sort of art submission contest I would have absolutely zero chance of winning.

So to everyone attempting the contest, I say, "Good luck." To everyone who has given up or never held any interest in it, I am sorry this contest was not your cup of tea. I can only hope that maybe this has brought video game music more to your attention. There can be some truly fantastic music in some of your favorite games.

I'm not sorry at all, I dislike contests in general anyway. I enjoyed listening to the music posted as it was mysterious to not know the titles but now I really want to know them though, hope they post the answers after the contest.
I am pretty sure I only ever heard #5, and I don't even know the game it comes from.
Unfortunately I noticed this contest too late and from work I can't make researches (I feel they are song from Jeremy Soule since I think I heard that "sound" in many classic RPGs, but I have no time to dig it).
Good luck to everyone trying ;)

You still have time until tomorrow, 9:59AM GMT to submit your answer, and with the relatively small number of entries we've received so far you have a good chance of wining one of the giveaway codes :-)
Well, this was pretty fun and almost killed my work day. The first 3 were difficult for me, but I hope it will be the good answer !

Really Gog, put several challenge like this, even with no gifts to congratulate people.

It is fun, and it enables us to remember of genius videogame composers :)
First sounds familar but I doubt its what I think it is
Can't listen to rest at the moment due to buffering :(
WILD IDEA! Is this topic leads us to announcement with BG Enhanced Edition release @ GOG.com? ;)
So how do we send the answers...

To be honest, you really should announce this contest on the main page.

Only 7 minutes before the end and I've just discovered it.

With a contest like this, where only a few people will really participate, I don't think they wanted to make everyone read about it. It was announced on their twitter feed.
