It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

HereForTheBeer: Loads fine for me.

That said, you may want to try doing what my wife does when things are going a bit slow for her tastes: click the mouse button REALLY FRIGGIN' HARD.
Has she tried blowing on the ethernet conector/wifi receptor?
Yeah. My 56k modem takes forever to load a page...

P1na: Side note: I'm currently working on a website as a contract for an external company, got the design, the structure and the behaviour ready and waiting for the client to set up the content. When I got it, they sent such high-fidelity images that loading the homepage alone was 80+MB.

Still laughing about it.
*lol* That's what you get for optimizing HTML and CSS to save a few Bytes ;)

I've done one or two responsive designs to make websites handheld friendly. People always looked shocked when I told them that this doesn't mean "fits on a small screen" solely, but has to do with the file size of the page as well. With modern internet speeds (and in a country where you don't have a bandwith cap), they completely forgot what a MB is. And comparatively slow speeds of mobile internet and bandwith caps of 500MB - 1GB didn't bring back that knowledge to everyone yet.
I honestly haven't noticed it being any slower.

Couldn't you just, you know, resize them? Or are we talking hundreds of images in different sizes?

it scales them, but these are indeed very many images that the client needs to manage. If the client puts huge images, best I can do is make sure they scale to the proper size without breaking the design and explain them why is best not to do it.

Oh, so they add the content themselves? It sounded like it was a one-time initial setup that you were performing. Yeah, in that case you need to educate them about image sizes.
What browser are people using when they find it show?

Or is it a slow internet connection that's the issue?

I don't think it is a problem with the internet connection or the browser, but with GOG's servers instead. Yesterday the game was extremely slow for me, today everything is back to normal.

Oh. I've not noticed that yet. It might depend on the time of day then?

Only before 9pm UCT.
Front page works fine for me. I can't say the same about the browse games section...

RayRay13000: "doesn't make fun anymore"

Navigating a website is considered fun now? ...
For those who are strictly against things not making fun: I'm bored and angry when a site loads slow.

Although now in the evening it seems to be faster.
For me the site loads perfectly O_o
The only annoying thing is having to manually refresh the tabbed forum page at first access, but maybe it's just a Firefox26 problem.

EDIT: maybe the replay popup window is slightly slower than usual

Nope. That doesn't give her the same sense of instantly relieved frustration as she gets by turning a soft 'click' into a 'WHAM!'
