I don't suppose appealing to at least a slight veil of civility in the forums would work? No?

We average about one topic a year with "ass" in the subject. One every other year with "fuck" (according to my googling), One "shit" a year, and innumerable "damns", "hells" and whatnot.

I figured: you know what? Let's try and keep this to a minimum because, hey: it doesn't hurt to try apply the thinnest veneer of civility, does it? It's hardly censorship. We're asking nicely.

There's a huge difference between the word ass(if used in context especially) and f**k/s**t/etc.

Also is a few mentions of the word ass in some thread titles that much of a threat to getting new customers to GOG that such has to be edited out(I get that f**k should, and probably s**t as well, but not ass....and maybe not damn/hell/etc.)?

(Also technically you didn't ask before editing any of the threads....:p...;)...)

But what if I want to see things as they were intended by their author? I have no recourse. There is no checkbox for making the topic of this title say 'ass' again.

So yes, it is censorship.

Censorship: The practice of officially examining books, movies, etc., and suppressing unacceptable parts.

All in all, what we're trying to say is that no......a veil of civility is alright to ask of us, if done in moderation. Censor/redact/etc f**k/s**t/etc to your heart's content, but know when to edit and when editing would be too extreme a measure. That's all we ask. :bows:

This has got nothing to do with civility, he just said 'kicks ass'. And if you're altering posts, it IS censorship.
