I (r) c...thanks for the 411.

I can't, I've never been able to finish the first level on account of the game's constant crashing. Often times I'm lucky if I can leave the first train car.

It ran for me......it does crash after saving too many times, though, but that's about it. (It doesn't happen every time I run it.....it seems to go from boot to boot(Of the OS.) regarding if it crashes or not. I usually use quicksave [and regular saves as well] to mitigate the damage, as it were. Otherwise it runs fine.)

Does your game crash on level load or after a set period?

I haven't tried it lately, but it was crashing immediately due to the buggy graphics code. I'm not sure why that game has so many problems, but it seems to be pathologically afraid of nVidia GPUs, I could probably play it with my AMD card, but I haven't bothered to. I've just thrown way too much time into trying to play in the past that it's not attractive to throw more time at it.

Blood OTOH runs just fine if that's your cup of tea.

rampancy: I really wanted to like Blood 2, especially after having had such a good time playing Shogo. Sadly, Blood 2 wasn't just a mediocre shooter; it was a mediocre shooter trying to be funny, which just wasn't funny. (The game lost me when they started putting Gabe Newell/Valve jokes in the game.)

Anyway, I hear tell that Blood works at its best when run with nGlide in addition to a build of DOSBox which has 3Dfx support.

Licurg: Guys, i just wanted to give him a short, must buy list. Stop giving so many titles, the poor guy will shoot himself:P

rampancy: Don't worry about that. He'll have spent so much money on games that won't even be able to afford bullets, let alone a gun.
wow Rampant, you can really read people. You are a kick-ass wizard / clairvoyant. Can I be your friend ?

JudasIscariot: Hi OP and welcome to our forums. I understand your enthusiasm and all, but do try to refrain from certain words in the thread title, alright?
You mean the word 'ass' ? My god, you guys are such wimps.....what's this, a forum for 8 yo girls ?

Not wimp, but lately they came in pack. And the amount of complain to mod getting bigger since past few weeks. Maybe they're under pressure from their higher ups because of that.

I don't get it either. They sell games with sex/violence in them here, then censor out swears in thread titles.(As I said earlier this could only be seen as having been done "for the children" on GOG if they censored/wordfiltered the posts as well. As they don't it seems to just be a PR move to gain more traffic or something done to cover their butts legally. It won't work though, imo, what with the swearing and risque talk still allowed in the threads themselves and all. So I wonder why they even bother....)

Who's complaining about what? GOGgers complaining or outside people/groups?

(Maybe GOG should make the forums 16+ only or make a separate general for the kids? I dunno.)

OK seriously not being able to say "kicks ass" in the title is totally ridiculous.
Come on there was a movie called "Kick Ass" with it's name plastered all over and nobody sane found that title offensive

The official policy on that as far as I can tell has been much stricter when it's swearing at people rather than casual swearing. As the site gets more and more broadly marketed it wouldn't surprise me if they start to crack down a bit on things like that.

I'm a bit surprised that they're still as permissive as they are about racy topics.

I got it working on an nVidia GPU (GTX260) so that it didn't crash at all anymore. I think it required something like disabling some option and setting the resolution to some specific one, probably 1024x768. I couldn't stand the game, though.

GOGers. There were several heated discussions that eventually turned ugly and against this site policy, some GOGers screamed for moderation.

Although i agree "kick ass" in this topic title is nothing offensive, it's used in context. So my guess GOG mods are little bit cautious recently.

Age Restrictions
Service is available only to individuals who are of legal age to form a binding contract and legally permitted to use the Service. However any individuals under the age of 18, should go over these terms and conditions with their parent or guardian, to make sure that the individual and their parent or guardian understands these terms and conditions.
While GOG.com has recently become Adults Only (or 18+, or Guardian Permission Required) according to the Terms of Use, the problem with thread titles is the fact that all search engines parse the titles, though not all of the pass the text (or the links). While it does make sense to censor some of the words, especially on thread titles, I do believe that the Donkey isn't that offensive, though no idea unless we get an official statement (unlikely).

I tried all the tips and none of them worked for me. I think disabling the acceleration did seem to work, but by that point I was rather disgusted by the incompetence of the original developer. GOG can't fix things when the original program is so buggy.
