GameRager: Yes but wanting to encourage people to not post such in titles but allow such in thread posts? Why allow one and discourage the other in such a way if not for a totally different reason(Such as getting new customers to come to GOG.) than just encouraging board civility?
because of context. A headline will always be out of context, it is to indicate the topic which is found in the thread. The topic of a thread will most likely not be focused around swearing, so why should the headline? In that case it is just attention seaking (I generally as a rule do not bother with thread which have "bad words" in the headline as it an indication of no content...)

However, when you are writing a post/argument/what-ever in the tread, you are trying to get a point over to the reader and in that context "bad words" can be used to insert some emotional impact.

The difference is like shouting swear words at random people passing you by in the street, or using them in an argument with someone.

I think we should go back to the old way, keep the moderation at minimum.

gameon: and changes nothing.
Which just makes it an offensive waste of time, energy and money which could be better used in releasing more games for me to buy!

You state that swearing/etc can be used for valid reasons in a thread further into your post but start by saying swears aren't valid for thread titles. If they can be used to insert some "emotional impact" into the words of a post why can't they do the same thing validly in a thread title?

Anyways this debate wasn't even about being able to use swears in thread titles, but using semi-risque words in valid ways in thread titles & having them edited out for no real reason.
Sigh, I think we desperately need more moderation.

Plus, can we change Gluteus Maximus in the title to Heiney? Perhaps weh can get a Heineken sponsorship.

Maybe for some problem areas like spam threads(True spam such as advertisement threads.), but not this kind of stuff.

This is a web site the caters to people of all ages all over the world. I hardly think this is the sort of place where we really want to have these sorts of threads.
I feel sorry for the people who don't know what gluteus maximus is and might think this thread is about GOG abusing some defenseless animal :(

Sorry, but I don't think acting a tad idiotic in a thread that little ones might frequent is as much a cause for concern as you seem to. By the way you're replying it's as if we're talking about porn while swearing up a storm in here.

Also we are(for the most part) discussing a valid topic here...it's not all pointless.
Steam, Origin, cloud-gaming... I was starting to lose hope. I even thought of giving up my hobby in the future, but then... a light at the end of the tunnel: GOG. Thank you so much, guys! :)

GOG IS one of the best, there is no doubt. :)

Just another figment of your imagination. I bet if you read this thread you would still believe you mentioned it!

Maybe it got edited out though for being too vulgar.
