SCPM: Congrats GOG, you're the best resource for PC games!

That's great!

What's interesting is that the readers don't exactly agree with their own list (link provided in the winners-announced article).

Congrats GOG!

SCPM:
Awesome! Get that name out there! Hopefully it kicks up activity in some of the sub-forums.

Edit: Actually there's another voting poll and Steam is winning by about 2000 votes.

Where is it taking place? Maybe we could get GOGers organised.

On the Lifehacker link. There's another voting poll for the "crowd favorite", GOG was listed as editors choice, but not mob favorite.

Edit: Right below this line

There you have it! Now that you've seen the top five, it's time to put them to an all-out vote to determine the crowd favorite:

OK, it's quite possible that one or more of my add-ons or userscripts is getting in the way, but I can't find it. Could you, please, be a bit more specific? Thanks!
So, we DID IT! GOG.com leaped its way on top of the "Five Best Resources for PC Games" feature on Lifehacker. And thanks to you, we did it in style! :-D

Now, Lifehacker is making its usual popularity contest to see which of the five best options they closed down on is the most popular among their users (kind of redundant, yes, but the thing is now on top of their main page, and the results differ greatly in this round, usually).

If you have a moment to vote again, and show your support to our DRM-Free stance, you'll find the poll here:

http://lifehacker.com/five-best-resources-for-pc-games-1567864346

Whatever the final result may be, I feel that we've won already. Only GOG.com can boast that many positive comments on the original entry. Well, "positive" doesn't really cut it. You guys really showed us some love in there. Personally, I'm proud as heck and I felt really touched while reading all those nice things you've had to say about us. Moments like this, really show us that we have something special here; you and us.

The poll is done via a Polldaddy plugin, so that my be the reason you cannot see it. It's located under all the nominated sites; descriptions.

The upside of it being a Polldaddy poll is that anyone can vote once from their IP without being forced to log in to anything or use any social media accounts.

The actual Community Forum is more of an asset than the store. However even though GOG's library may not yet compete with the size of Gate's or Steam's it is the SAFEST of digital retailers to make a purchase from when they do have the game you're looking for simply for the fact that you can walk away with it.

Yes, we won already! Let's not forget the various constraints that were put into place for the first poll. I'll admit that I made a throw away "Burner account" using both a VPN and a sandboxied browser and voted.

Redundant and silly, as if the size of Steam's user base isn't evidence enough of its popularity - kind of comes across as if they fear that Steam might be regarded as dethroned on their site with GOG winning the original poll.

OK, voted the same way as before.
Unfortunately, Steam is kicking everyone's ass in the actual voting.

Well, I voted for gog. Wish I could vote for it a million times (lol, I did try...). But really wish consumers were a little smarter because then we would all benefit....

Oh well.
