According to that link, the average Linux user pays more than the average Mac user.. With Linux being "free", how does that go with your "Mac owners have bigger wallets" argument?

I thought that was pretty obvious - they would like GOG to focus on the things they feel GOG should be focusing on rather than Mac support. This affects them (or at least they believe so).

Really? Any respect I had for you (not personally, but as another forum user / human being) decreased drastically after reading that. Reading your subsequent posts made it even worse. If you and your attitude were representative of Mac users then GOG would've made their biggest mistake ever by catering to the "Mac crowd".

I heard that argument before and it's pretty silly. Most people with low incomes won't have a Mac (big surprise) so is it surprising that, on pay-what-you-want sales, Mac users in general spend larger amounts? News flash: Mercedes owners also spend more money on tires and car wax. Considering how small the difference is, I think we can safely say there's virtually no difference and it shouldn't be an argument.

And, really, I don't mind that GOG sell Mac games now as long as they offer both PC and Mac versions in the same sale and don't lose focus.

PS. On a side-note, why doesn't people refer to "platform" as OSX or Windows, instead of Mac or PC? I'm typing this from Ubuntu, on a PC...

grviper: IBM PC gaming until the late 80s wasn't big. The graphics were ugly and the hardware was expensive. Atari 8-bit, Apple 2, C64 and Amiga, BBC Micro and even Spectrum were more developed in that regard. Ah, there were also those standardized PCs called MSX, which really took off in Japan. I wonder if GOG will release a few old Mac exclusives, just to tease people. Pax Imperia, Pathways into Darkness, Mission: Firestorm...
That would be really cool if they released Damage Incorperated (although I think it might have been released on PC too, it's a bitch to run nowadays). Like I said, I don't hate Macs or Mac users per se, and some of the Mac exclusives were really cool. I just don't like elitists.

I apologize to you all for being an asshole.

But you have to admit, that OJ bit was pretty funny.

Congratulations on your continued success. Like others, I believe DRM has done more harm then good, punishing only players who wish to pay for "games that are truly worth it."
The addition of support for mac is a real treat and the top of my wish list. Ignore the nay sayers and keep up the great work. Thanks for the funny pseudo-apple video lol.

Yeah, no. The non-Mac crowd crawls into a Mac thread and stinks it up by taking jibes at people they don't even know, with remarks like "Hipsters," "People who think style over computing is cool?" "People with more money than sense" and I'm sure you saw Cartman going nuts on your way here from the last page.

This is the other side of that coin. I mean if you're gonna say there must be something wrong with Mac users, someone's gonna say there's something wrong with people who DON'T use Macs. You gotta give an idiot their own medicine to troll em up (refer my recent posts.) The idiots won't be able to tell what's going on, but others will see what's up and luls will ensue.

and don't give me that "concerned about GOG's focus blablah" they're only coming here to ruin a party they weren't invited to.


P.S. Rest easy though, the "Mac crowd" doesn't invade the threads of other OSes to attack their users, cause we're happy with ours <3

I made a launcher app for The Witcher 2 in Automator so I can install the game to the default Applications folder and put the launcher on my Boxer shelf without having the data folder junking up the place.

I posted it here for anyone who doesn't know how to use Automator.

This is probably a really noob question, but you can put non-dos games on the boxer shelf? Like you just move them into the boxer folder?

The default location is /Applications/The Witcher 2/. I put all my games in a Boxer-skinned /Applications/Games folder. The Witcher 2 application needs to be in the same directory as its data folder and I didn't like the look of that on my Boxer shelf.

That's right. Any game. In fact you can put any type of file in a Boxer-skinned folder. It's just a normal folder with an image background. (Sorry if that spoils the magic.)
