If you preordered Botanicula on GOG.com or have been paying attention to this quirky adventure game, you very probably heard all of the noise around the Humble Botanicula Debut and how some users were left rather unhappy about paying $8.99 for a preorder of the game while people who bought it on day one could pay whatever they wanted for it and they got more goodies than the GOG.com preorder provided.

This left an unsurprisingly sour taste in some gamers’ mouths, and we were just as surprised by the launch of the Humble Botanicula Debut as anyone else was. As soon as we saw the bundle, we reached out to the guys at Amanita about providing our users with something in return for their preorders; we got them to agree to give us a number of goodies from the bundle, and we’re giving you and every other user who bought the game before 12:00 GMT on the 20th of April will receive a few things. Everyone who bought Botanicula before we published this news will automatically be getting Machinarium to your shelf on Monday, and we’ll be emailing all of those purchasers with links where they can download the full soundtrack and a special artbook of Botanicula designs and character sketches.

Finally, we wanted to give you guys something that you couldn’t get in the Humble Bundle to make sure that you didn’t feel like you got a raw deal. To that end, courtesy of our fine friends at CDP RED, we’re happy to let you know that we’re also giving you and everyone else who already bought Botanicula a free copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut! This game will also be on your shelf on Monday, so look for it then.

At GOG.com, we’ll never knowingly disappoint you, and while this preorder mishap may have made you a little unhappy, we hope that you enjoy Botanicula--it’s a fantastic game and many of us here at the office are fans--and, if you’d like to say “thanks!” to our pals at CDP RED, check out The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition, available right now at your favorite DRM-free game store, GOG.com.

Have a great weekend!

I just asked the same question yesterday, and found that there are at least some of us who have yet to receive the email link to the extras. With all they have going on these days, it is just taking some time. And since they are working with Amanita, there may also be an issue with logistics as well. In the meantime, I am enjoying the game immensely.
So far I am unimpressed, and getting concerned. I have written them several times, with no response. Their own purchase agreement says I only have 7 days to request a refund, and it's going to be more than 7 days before I hear from them. If they expect me to act within 7 days, I expect the same of them. I can't help but feel some concern about ordering from them again in the future; so far it seems there is no one there who can help me.
well i find it every heart warming that gog decided that we were getting a raw end of a deal if we preorder botanicula and added stuff to it in order to make it there customers happier with there purchase. its good to see that gog is trying to reward there customers when they preorder the game. when in this case the humble bundle unenforced the preorder incentive making it a point to buy the games later then to buy them on pre-release when you can get a better deal later.
I checked and I can still get everything in the Humble Botanicula package for another 7 and half days almost. I wish that GOG would run a promo up to this time and for those the already of the games offered in the old gift package, that they would give them a two gift cards to get two games at the price of $9.99 or less, including the extra bonuses for Botanicula.
The art book & map collection has just been added to the Humble Bundle

Looks like GOG version is still inferior to the one offered in HB.

So, basically Amanita says, "F*ck you very much!" to GOG once again by adding more bonus content to the HIB that essentially reignites the original complaints.

I wouldn't have expected any less from a group people who passive aggressively said that allowing GOG and Gamersgate to take preorders was a mistake (they didn't apologize for the free promotion GOG gave them a couple of weeks ago, though), rather than acknowledging the mistake was them undercutting GOG and GG's preorders with a prescheduled indie bundle.

I think GOG should stop dealing with these guys and selling their products.

This is not worded very clearly. However, if I'm understanding correctly, you're expecting GOG to bend over backwards even more than they already have done as well as give away two other free games?

Why don't you take your high expectations to the developer instead and tell them what you think? Or, if you didn't preorder, this doesn't concern you. It's clearly the developer's fault, not those that run GOG.
Amanita design can rot in hell. Seriously. Their games are also overrated. It's not art, just senseless garbage...

I'm confused; what are you asking Support to do?
Note: anyone who doesn't have their link to the bonus goodies, please check your spam filter. We sent the link out to everyone last Friday.

Apart from the fact that all GOG pre-orders got the Witcher. The Witcher is a much more valuable game than Samorost 2, Windosill and Osada put together.

It sounds like he's asking for a refund:

Thought GOG's policy was 'no refunds', not 'within 7 days'. Any idea where the 7 days thing is coming from?

I believe it is now, "If you haven't downloaded the game and it is within 7 days of your purchase."

Ah, well in that case I suppose that's what he's asking for.

It seems like the real reason he wants a refund is to stop money going to Amanita. Also he already had the two free games...
