If you preordered Botanicula on GOG.com or have been paying attention to this quirky adventure game, you very probably heard all of the noise around the Humble Botanicula Debut and how some users were left rather unhappy about paying $8.99 for a preorder of the game while people who bought it on day one could pay whatever they wanted for it and they got more goodies than the GOG.com preorder provided.

This left an unsurprisingly sour taste in some gamers’ mouths, and we were just as surprised by the launch of the Humble Botanicula Debut as anyone else was. As soon as we saw the bundle, we reached out to the guys at Amanita about providing our users with something in return for their preorders; we got them to agree to give us a number of goodies from the bundle, and we’re giving you and every other user who bought the game before 12:00 GMT on the 20th of April will receive a few things. Everyone who bought Botanicula before we published this news will automatically be getting Machinarium to your shelf on Monday, and we’ll be emailing all of those purchasers with links where they can download the full soundtrack and a special artbook of Botanicula designs and character sketches.

Finally, we wanted to give you guys something that you couldn’t get in the Humble Bundle to make sure that you didn’t feel like you got a raw deal. To that end, courtesy of our fine friends at CDP RED, we’re happy to let you know that we’re also giving you and everyone else who already bought Botanicula a free copy of The Witcher: Enhanced Edition Director’s Cut! This game will also be on your shelf on Monday, so look for it then.

At GOG.com, we’ll never knowingly disappoint you, and while this preorder mishap may have made you a little unhappy, we hope that you enjoy Botanicula--it’s a fantastic game and many of us here at the office are fans--and, if you’d like to say “thanks!” to our pals at CDP RED, check out The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings Enhanced Edition, available right now at your favorite DRM-free game store, GOG.com.

Have a great weekend!

thx GoG! You're amazing!!!
This kind of handling business is ultra rare in those days. I am proud to be a part of GOG.com community, the best customer-friendly online shop on the planet, with the greatest user experience in my entire life.

I didn't buy Botanicula here, but I'm amazed to see such cool move.

Also, as spinefarm linked, GOG.com is willing to give something more for people who already own Machinarium and The Witcher EE on GOG. Double awesomeness.
I already have a Witcher 1 here on GOG, but I'm looking forward for Machinarium with all the extras on monday. I have no words for how awesome you guys are. I'm going to buy some game right now here just to support you guys! :) You deserve it.

And after all the hate they got after giving away Fallout... Everything they did yesterday and today for all the customers that bought Botanicula is simply amazing. They deserve the loyalty they get from normal customers.

Thanks for the link, but they probably mean "own on GOG". My Machinarium copy is on Steam.

I know the issue, and i know you didnt know about the promotion they did at 0.01$, i think GOG.com is great and you will not dissapoint the ones who pre-ordered the game. And i think this action demonstrates it.

But even i didnt ordered Bonaticula just because i´m not interested on it, i will like o give you just one counsel, give a second option to the guys that already own THE WITCHER, will not be a bad thing added to the good actions you already did for solve this issue.

Thanks!
Yes, Amanita Design did a curious thing here, but I _still_ have one question.
For once, could you please also ask Amanita if you could offer the Linux version of the game?
I mean this strange deal isn't your fault, you're doing your best here, but for people who already own all the gifts, this still leave a bitter taste in the mouth.

I really think Amanita should let you distribute all the versions of their games...
Is the full soundtrack going to be bundled with this game in the future? I am in no hurry to buy and I don't mind paying more for the GOG version. I wasn't planning on buying it until I was about to play it. But if the bundle is the only way I am going to gain access to the full sountrack then I will probably get that instead . . .
GOG.com

The fact you made this effort shows why you really care about us. Even if you weren't able to get us any goodies, I don't care.

You mentioned an earlier statement about sales creating meaninglessness to games cause of so many sales and this is a prime example.

GOG.com for life (Until you become a giant corporation and lose sight)
ridiculously generous gog.
Way to go GOG! It is amazing to me the lengths GOG will go through to keep a happy fanbase. Between this and The Witcher 2 EE backup, you have made sure I will always be a loyal customer (and I didn't even purchase Botanicula).

In a world where most other companies would have issued an "oh well..." sort of PR statement, it is refreshing to see a company that truly cares about its customers.

Cheers and keep up the great work. It's appreciated!
