I asked about ZeniMax a few months back. Apparently they have some deal with 3C (publisher from Russia) that makes 3C the exclusive distributor of ZeniMax products in Europe. Since GOG.com is an international site, the ZeniMax deal with 3C would preclude ZeniMax games from appearing on GOG.

It's a bummer, but there's nothing to be done until ZeniMax's deal with 3C expires. And even then, perhaps ZeniMax is perfectly satisfied with the situation and would sign up again with 3C. We'll just have to see...

EDIT: Ooops, I meant "1C Company" above, not "3C"

Got proof of it? Looked everywhere on the web for that. Nothing came up.

Nope, just what a fellow GOGer told me. I trusted them, but didn't verify like I probably should have.

Isn't Zenimax going to get the Fallout games eventually?

DustFalcon1985:
From everything that I've read about 1C on the forums here, they seem fairly shady. I doubt an agreement like that would be made public if it did exist.

Edited: I was wondering if 3C had any relation to 1C...

One more thing... looks like I botched the company name.

The Russian publisher in question is "1C Company."

I'm not sure where I got "3C" from.
Here's my old thread where the 1C thing came up:

Yes. After December 31 2013, I think. Interplay will no longer sell Fallout 1&2 and Fallout Tactics. Those games and the Fallout IP will be %100 owned by Bethesda Softworks.

Then it's either "sign Zenimax" or "don't sell classic Fallout games any more".
I want, you want, everyone wants Zenimax here on board

Everybody wants elder scrolls, Doom and wolfenstein here

GOG knows it and I'm sure they are doing what they can to bring the publisher and it's games here, alas, just like with anything, it's going to take a ton of time for anything to actually move forward in this case

Not to mention that Zenimax seems obsessed with using Steamworks in its games to the point of absurdity, such that even rereleases of games such as Morrowind and Doom are inexorably tied to Steam nowadays.

The conspiracy theorist in me believes that Valve has some kind of exclusivity contract with Zenimax bound to a non-disclosure agreement designed to maintain the illusion of Valve being some kind of benevolent overlord in the PC market, but it's probably really only due Zenimax having an obsession with DRM.
