Birthday fun and gifts (for you!)
GOG.com 5th birthday celebration continues, and we came up with some fun activities essential to every nerd party in the universe. Namely, we want to play some trivia with you! There will be prizes, of course, because there have to be gifts in a birthday celebration. Since it is our party, you get to keep the gifts! We wouldn't have it any other way. But, just to make it more fun, you'll have to put some effort into getting them. For the next couple of days (let's say: until Sunday), we'll post a daily activity for you. A quiz, a puzzle, some trivia--you know: fun stuff. Each day you'll get a chance to prove your gaming knowledge and familiarity with GOG.com for a chance to get some free games. Our activity of choice today: word search!

UPDATE:
We got word from our support, that some users aren't sure where they should send the answers. Let's pretend that finding the e-mail address on the picture below is a little warm-up exercise before the actual word search. If you can't handle that task, there's probably not much point in wasting your time looking for the 40 titles. And one more thing: we didn't notice it ourselves, but there's actually 41 hidden titles in the picture (apart from the highlighted "FEZ"). That's because one of the longer ones contains another one, shorter. Still--we don't expect more than 40, and that gives you a bit of an advantage.

GOG.com Birthday Word Search

You've got time until Thursday, September 26, at 14:59PM GMT. That's 24 hours. Have fun! :-)

There is PEE diagonally to POOP.
I've got 36. 37 if we count [the game starting with A] ;)

@DOWN
Yup, you're right. I wrote the title just 'coz I saw it already posted a couple of posts above.

Please don't spoil before the contest ended officially (you should edit your post). We don't know if the game in the game really counts or not.

Braussie: I got 40, but one is part of another, and I"m not sure if that counts. Oh well. I might look and see if I can find any other.
avatar
Psyringe: There's no reason why it shouldn't count. The instructions are to find games from the GOG catalog in all directions. It's clearly a game from the GOG catalog, and it's written in a valid direction.

There is however another game that might count as the 40th, but that one has its own problems.

I'd expect GOG to accept both though.
We will, as I stated in the update in the main post. That gives you some wiggle room, as the hidden titles actually total to 41. Please remember, that we only accept titles of GOG.com catalog games, though. DOTA isn't one. Nor is Poop ;-)

Oh, I didn't see that... however, everyone should have the same difficulty ;-)

I hope they post the answers after this is done. Excluding FEZ i did found 40 but one was the one in the other one ;) Since they are both on here i figured it was intentional and stopped searching (thinking I found them all). After reading the comments I have been looking for the other one but I can't find it (so I'd like the answers after the contest is over ;) )

WBGhiro: When will we finally get drm free poop?
Sorry, but Infestation isn't DRM free and require an internet connection to run, so we will not see this on GOG :(
Started an hour ago when I first saw this. A little late to the party, but as I managed to find 38 during that time, I might as well go for the full 40, no?
I believe I got all of them. My count is 42 (with two not actually counting).
Are the words evenly devided? I noticed the pattern on several parts of the puzzle, but I have a pretty open space in the bottom right corner, where I only got one game.
Ok, well i've found all the 40 in the end. But i think I might be a bit late...
Could I copy and paste the entire gog catalog? All 40 will be in there including and extra 571
Well I got there in the end. Extensive use of Paint was the key; as with any word search a lot of the page was used in the end, so any suspiciously large areas probably hold undiscovered words. :)

I'm guessing there have already been 40 complete answers by now but I liked the challenge of it either way. :D
I can't wait for the solutions. I didn't find any abbreviation in there. At least not one that fits with the pattern. I submitted another I found. I am also not sure what this "title within a title" is supposed to be.

P.S. Why did this thread reduce to 18 pages after I logged in? What are you censoring from me?
